Cupra rocks at Castle Combe!

Had my first track day at Castle Combe today, the car rocks! Grid full of Scoobies,Evos etc, I was nervous as hell! Tell you what, 4wd ain't what it's cracked up to be (on a race track anyway), my mate was in one and it pushed in the slow corners so he was no better off than me, BUT I wasn't losing 30-40% of my power in the transmission! Only car to pass me was a 650 bhp Evo, he could afford to lose a few ponies, but man was he on it, 4-wheel drifting everywhere..... People watching commented how quiet my car was compared to the rest, sound-check man said it was quiet as a mouse! Only Cupra there sadly, just got to get some Brasso on me blue brake discs:(

Good stuff. That square number plate is going to do a grand job of restricting flow to the intercooler though....

Sounds like a cracking day, not sure about the number plater restricting airflow to intercooler. I had a smaller plate put on just a couple of inchs each side shorter looks so much better on my K1

Sounds like you had a good day mate. Nice to see the cupra held its own against the likes of Evo's and Scoobies and even a westfield/caterham. Nice shot of your car too, looks really smart in that colour! You say people commented on how quiet your car was? Would you say the Milltek non-resonated TBE is fairly quiet then or is it still a tad loud for an every day car? I'm looking to invest in an exhaust system in the near future see and im unsure whether to opt for the resonated or non-resonated system.

Yeah, dead right about airflow, must change that! Maybe save me buying a new i/c... Exhaust is cat-back non-res, quiet under normal use, howls on song but not offensive, TBE will be louder tho' !

Sorry no pic only just got it, its a standard legal plate just about 2 inchs shorter each side. Searched for number plates on google and it was the first company that came up, looks alot better was abot £12 could add any text under plate number so did cupra K1 abit cheesy but looks good, ill get some pics done tomorrow.

 just noticed in your sig that you only have the cat-back. Im looking at going for the whole TBE, i would like a bit more noise but dont really want anything too intrusive so im really torn between the two.

You got any more pics of the car in action? How did you find the car handled on the track?

Non-res cat-back is a great starting point, a bit deeper tone, not too loud but lets you know when you're on it! You can always add front pipe as and when, will be a bit louder tho'

i see you have the bigger roof spoiler, didnt know you could get that without the rest of the body kit. Looks good with the black wheels

Cat back is really not going to give any performance gain though, but it is essential to complete a tbe system. For what its worth, my car stock made 257bhp. With Carbonio and Full Milltek it made 267bhp in the rolling road.

The bootlid spoiler will be the same as is on your K1 lad.

I think with the Revo stage 1 i wont need a performance gain, just want t to sound better. As at the mo ub til your between 5000 to 7000rpm when you get the lovely rasp it is far to quiet.
