Cupra polished front strut brace, where from?

I took my seat sport brace to get chrome plated today and to my disgust they have said its going to cost around £110 to get done. Now ive never had anything plated before so im not sure if this is a good price?

Back to my question is there anywhere that you can buy a already polished front brace as if its cheaper than what they are quoting i may aswell this go route.

That does look like the one we need.

Oh and they are very easy to take off, only 6 bolts and its off

do they require set torque settings on the screws?

ive never looked into it tbh but i dont think they need to be super tight as there basically only to hold the top mounts in place

id be very interested to know if these are the correct fitment as it would save me quite a few pennies.

Takes about 5minutes to remove it shanty 6 bolts and a 13mm scocket and ratchet.

True, but im not sure how much we would get stung for return postage,

Doesnt look shiney shiney either.

Might be worth a search around E38 later to see if any of the mk2 golf boys are running them.

What metal are these made from though? if it is aluminium they wouldnt be that strong would they?

Aluminium is very strong and light. I would imagine them to be aluminium, easily polished and no need for a protective coating to stop them rusting.

I would say mild steel. Too heavy for aluminium.

My momo ones definatly steel, only just colour coded it aswel lol but id defo buy the polished one when we find out which one fits lol

defo steel, some of the paint had started flaking of my seat sport one and it had abit of surface rust to it.
