My car needs 4 new tyres ASAP just cant decide on whether to fit the standard fit 225/40 r18 Pirelli p zero Rossos again or if to fit something else?

I've had falken fk452s on my last 4 cars which were a good price and good tyre

When I bought my car I wanted one with the pirellis on it as that to me means the car may of had a better life
The pirellis seem to do a good job other than the wurrrring noise I keep getting on most roads from the back end that isn't just my car is it?!??

Is it worth spending an extra £170 on the pirellis or is there something else that's as good?

Any help Would be appreciated

Had P-Zero Rossos which were great in the dry (better than my current ContisportContact3's) but not as grippy in the wet as the Contis. The Contis are a bit quieter than the Pirellis though.

Next tyre change I'll be switching to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's. By all accounts they're excellent.

Just had 4 kumho ku39's fitted. Far better than the Dunlop sp Maxx TT that where on the car when I got it. The kumho's are a lot quieter, excellent grip in wet and dry very impressed for £440 fitted.

Not just yours, mine is the same, Brigestone's make even more noise rubble, Conti 5P make less rubble than Pirelli & Bridge.

I've just ordered 2 Avon ZZ5's @ £118 each for the rear. My other opctions were Yokohama Advan Sports £110 or the Kumho's KU39. Decide what to put on the front when I've had the Avon's for a month. . .

PZR ftw!
i love them... yeah, slightly noisy on some roads, but they are great and even more so when hot!
i tend to swap between them or Michelin pilot sporty 3.

come winter mind, i will possibly change to Continental contact 3. imo, possibly the best brand to have during the wetter time of the year!

i would never touch Falkan,Kumho,Avon ect ect... not saying they are bad, but certainly not my cup of tea.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical 2's

FYI, I've just bought 2 x Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical 2's to be fitted at my work tomorrow by eTyres.* On the website it quoted £132.80 but i rang them up and paid £127 each - delivered and fitted!
*
I'm changeing from Falken SS's which are supposed to be pretty good for the price but i never really felt that confident in them..on them..or whatever! lol
*
I shall post back, to let you guys know how they feel.* I intend to get the other two done in a month or two.
*
By for now.

I'm a Yokohama fan at heart and have used them since 1993, I've yet to have a tyre come anywhere near them, Kumho & Avon's not to far behind, Conti Sport 5p's are great but again it's just the noise/rubble they produce. . .

ive had 2 p-zero nero put on the front of mine and have got eagle f1 a sym's on the back the pirelli's kick arse on the f1's lost the arse end tnite round a mini roundabout doing 15-20mph when i had f1's on the front couldnt give it full beans in this weather

Trueman is coming from Falken, so the Goodyear's are a step in the right direction. . .

i was led to believe falkens were pretty good tyres lol, but check this i rang a guy to get a price for my nero's and he tried selling me some mohawks i had to google them and found they were budget's, why if im asking for premium tyres would he try sell me budgets??

Been running 4 KU39's since the summer, very good tyre imho, especially for the price you can get them fitted for. Brand snob's may be missing out on a great tyre.

to give you a further option:

do you live near a Costco?

if so, they also sell tyres, specifically, they only sell Michelins!

i was in my local costco on saturday and for Michelin Pilot Sport's 225/45/17 they were £125 each fitted, buy 4 and you get a 20% discount (so you effectively get your VAT back!)

so £125 x 4 = £500, less 20% (£100) 4 new tyres fitted, balanced, new valves, nitrogen inflation etc £400!!

a billy bargain for Michelins that! well worth the £12 memberhip fee!

Had 2 x Pirelli's fitted today on the front of my 2008 Cupra K1 after doing over 18,000 miles on the orginal front tyres - good price too via Kwik Fit online (£137 each with a couple of quid for nitrogen inflation).

Amazed nobody has mentioned them but one of the best rated Tyres around now for the last couple of years is the Hankook V12 Evo.

Check Camskill but usually just about £100 a tyre and are as good as anything I've ever used!

Just google them and read the reviews, sure you won't be disappointed!

I think everyone has their own view on tyres, also depends on the suspension set up, where you live and what the roads are like around your area, mileage you cover, noise, feedback, wear.
It goes on and on.
