well as of late i havent had so much interest in working loads of hours on the caddy as ive now had to sort out the beezer due to the nupty the drove into it... but ive done the odd bits

banged out crushed arches

hi flapper... on my b pillers its had a couple plates welding in but left the original seam..the seam isint the greatest so thought about smoothing it over...trouble is, it gets a fair amount of flex there and also condensation from inside the cab....i cant just skim over it as the filer will crack so could i run a bead of weld through the seam and then tidy up with filler? or should it not be welding so it can flex still?

depends on how you mean by flex ? probabyl need to see a pic to see what you mean

to be honest a b pillar to me is structual and shouldn't be flexing anyway

and if anything needs holding together to stop it flexing i'd be welding it - not filling

weld it solid / filler it pretty is how i go

yeah i would of thought it shouldnt flex but i suppose its because the bed could be cut off leaviing the cab intact..

before with plate welded

personally i would cut out the grotty 1" or so at the bottom and weld a plate in fully flush and grind it back dead smooth with no seam

especially if you are going for a 'euro' look , less seams and bits sticking out the better

if you are after an 'original genuine' seam back there you can always grind one back in and clean up with filler

jesus i would love a g40 or g60 but we dont want the caddy being better then the beezer! lol...awh heck with it, ill turbo a vr6! lmao......naah on a more serious note, i would like an aaz tdi engine if not a gt tdi but sourcing the latter is near on impossiable....

also body work is a fair bit futher ahead now.

would love another abf as i know them pretty well now

only reason id like the gt tdi is the fact i can use same gearbox and wiring loom...i could still use my gearbox as its 5 speed but wouldnt think it would last:)

give us a headsup if you see one or know one going cheap ;)

my unlucky run continues...went to weld the un needed holes on the wings today to find one is bashed about with a big dent on the leading edge..not happy.....and for the ompany just to say...'yeah and' on the phone...then said he cant find my invoice....so they have no interest in sorting it out..so i yet have more shite to sort out..

with this and the issues with the car i wish i didnt have any of the crap..its more hassle then its ever worse....everything seems that its against me all the bloody time
