well sell it to me then, and then you won't have to watch it get driven round by some tard when you wish you'd kept it

(I am a tard, just live further away)

well my love hate relationship is still ongoing with the turd wagon! haha

well in its defence it wasnt really its fault! haha, when i swapped the pump over i had to change the plug on the fuel stop solenoid, well i didnt crimp it overly well and it came off when i went over a speedbump, so it cut out in front of some girlies i just blew aload of soot over! as tony the tiger says GRRREAT

well, the boost controller has been fitted now, with a a gauge to check what was going on.. still havent done anything with the gauge, just there to monitor the boost whilst setting up, so its flapping around at the mo!

but we now have uped the boost from 5psi to just over 12 ;)

how long until it blows the head off the bottom end? :D

still got smoke but only on boost tho which is expected, these blocks aint quite as good as yours but will go abit more, i dont really want to at the moment, the caddy aint exactly the best handling and stopping vehicle! haha

there is a marine from watchet that is down chivenor camp with an AAZ and running 30psi on stock internals!

well, we adjusted the linkage and we have gears again! so thats a bonus, but the biggest bonus is that ive finally found teh cause of the excess smoke and one hell of a diesel clatter..

the clatter had been there from the start and i had relized why the chap had sold the motor on now, as previously said, it smoked sooo much and really had a huge diesel knock,

we had swapped the top of the pump/cam plate.. changed injectors, done head gasket, stripped the motor down including piston ect checking all bearings and could find no reason, changed the pump timing from full advace to full retard and still made no difference,

the only thing i hadn't checked would be something you would check firstly on a petrol engine and that was the firing order,

obviously many of you know that diesel dont use ht leads,

The diesel pump acts the same as a dizzy in a way and has the injector hardline that come off and run to the injectors. well we had never disturbed these at the pump end as there were no need to when removing injectors.

so i went and found the firing order for the vw engine and then found which way the pump works, and bingo, somebody had put the hardlines on wrong, they should normally only go on one way, but with a little tweak you can put them on incorrectly, this is what had happened :( no wonder it was smoking, teh pump was delievering teh diesel at the incorrect time for two of teh cylinders! christ knows how the motor was still running!

so now all is running well with good power, i had some more enthusiasm for it, i managed to sell my old ibiza seats, and the chap that had them off me had the cloth versions of the same seats, so i had them for nothing! :D i modified the subframes to fit the caddy, not the easiest of jobs but hey ho, they are in there and look good, il get pics tommorrow..
