Has anyone ever had an alloy repaired before? If so is it worth it? Also can anyone recommend any companies that do this in the Middlesbrough area. This is the crack in the rim;

You can try
http://www.necoatingcompany.co.uk/alloy-wheel-repair/

I was going to use them to re-coat my bike wheels as they offer an all in one service (type removal, blasting, coating, tyre refitting) but they have moved from Seaham (down the road) to up north and weren't answering the phone.

They recently advertising on local radio which is why I thought of them (local radio won't reach where they are now).

Not that up on Teesside places any more.

Question is would you trust there are no hidden cracks that haven't come to the surface yet. If its just one wheel I would go with replacing instead of repair imho.

I would not waste money on alloy wheel repair as they are usually near impossible to balance, and as Ziggy pointed out there's no guarantee that there aren't any unseen cracks beneath the paint. Best get a replacement, even a good second hand one is a safer option.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll take it on board. Still got the rims at a bargain price regardless so I'll keep my eyes peeled for a spare.
