PD170 DPF gut and remap

Hi, I’ve got a pd170 Leon and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations of places that can gut the dpf and remap it, I’ve been quoted £500 and the remap is custom to the car not off the shelf but don’t know if this is reasonable. I’m Leicester based but willing to travel for the right place, cheers.

Doesn't sound far off to be honest.

You need the DPF doing properly, if an MOT tester spots it's been gutted it's an automatic fail. A cheap cowboy won't care, and you won't know about it till it's too late.

Hey, I'm also near Leicester - where abouts are you getting the work done? I've heard R-Tech are good near Nuneaton but can be expensive.

Is yours Manual or are you getting DSG tuned as well?

I didn't think that was legal anymore?

If he half-arses it because he's going to test it anyway, then loses his licence you might be up sh*t creek.
