convenience consumers - what the heck is this?

Discovered this option in the cars menu not long after i bought it (mk 3 tech pack) and for the life of me i cant work out exactly what it does? It looks kinda like a "loading bar"

can anyone shed any more light on this?

It's to do with economy. It's what is causing your car to be less economical or is using power.

Air con, heated mirrors etc.

it shows how much fuel you are using by using things like the AC etc

It tells you how much fuel the convenience equipment is using i.e. heated seats, air conditioning, mirror heating etc.
