Right,
Got the coilovers through the other day and want to be sure I know 100% what I'm doing this Friday (booked day off work to make sure car is ready for Seat parking at British Touring Car Championships lol)
Anyways. Bear in mind these are 100% newbie questions as in all the years pissing around with cars I've never handled coilies or taken apart anything other than Mk2/3 suspension!
1. The top mounts (I bought new ones). Do they just sit on the domed coilover cap like so? Is there nothing to go between them? On the old polo's it all built into each other and there was a cap on the shock/spring combination that the top mount sat in. Oh... I've not gone completly retarded and got it up the wrong way have I?!?
Domed cap on the coilover itself
The other, which I guess is fairly simple... the coilovers arrived like so:
which I'm guessing is quite low.. does anyone know how far to wind it up to find a standard car height?
Do I use the bolt that came with the coilovers to secure the top mount to it? IE. I drop the top mount on and tighten it up up until I get to the bottom of the thread?
I then pop the coilover into the car, stick the domed plate thing from the engine bay on there, put the original Ibiza suspension nut from the top back on right at the top and tighten it up.
