hi. im mike from Poland. Hope You will understand me english well.
I have a litlle problem with coilover installation to my ibiza 6L . I have TaTechnix coil set. I put it on my car and after few miles i started to hear some noises from the top mounts. They were previously mountes in polo 9n but it's same suspension and chasis so shouldn't be any troubles...my question is
after fitting coils in front I put only one cap on the top- it was includes in the coilover set . Should i Put another cap from my original suspension in the top mount bearing? maybe u habe a pics how it should be proper installed.
thx for any help
mike

Hi,

You should have a top cap which comes with the set. This cap sits ontop of the spring. Then the bearing sits ontop of the cap and then the top mount sits over the bearing. Have you put plenty of copper grease inbetween the top cap and the bearing? If you have not then that is probably causing your noise. Does the noise happen when you are turning?

You should have a top cap on top of the spring - then the bearing - then the top mount. All this mounts underneath the chassis and is secured by the 3 bolts at the top.

Maybe you have some pictures so we can help you out more?

When I installed my coilovers (FK Konigsports) there was one cap per side which sat on top of the spring. There were no caps to sit on top of the chassis

have you checked the nut on the top of the shock is tight. the one that holds the top mount to the shock. if this nut is loose then it will cause a knocking sound from the top mount
