It's crap when this sort of thing happens

Best thing to do is phone the dealer you bought the car from , tell them the story , see what they say , obviously the car was not fit for purpose , if they give you the run around tell them you will reject the car and expect to be reimbursed for any expenses you have incurred.

Quote the sale of goods act , back this up in writing to the dealer principle.

Would I have been able to drive over 900 miles in the last 22 days if the car needed a new clutch and flywheel? I haven't noticed any clutch slip, excessive noise or vibration. Just the pedal problem.

I agree go back to the dealer you got it from and explain the problem. It is well worth a call.

Also ring round every reputable dealer/garage and get them to quote to replace the clutch etc.... and have a deal with them, try cash??!! even supply the parts yourself and they fit for cash. It might get the price down.

I would say that the slave is at fault and personally I would change the clutch & flywheel whilst the gearbox is out as you know what will happen in a few months time if you don't...... They just want to cover all bases (and their arse).

This is a tough one but don't hold back on the garage I have done the same clutch in a Octavia in 2 hours and they say they are a specialist.
