Well I am back from my eventful trip in France and the car is going back to dealer on Tues to get the new air intake pipe fitted that they had previously not fitted correctly, resulting in it being shredded by the fans.
However, I am going to ask them to look at the hesitancy at 2500 revs again. I have just done 2700 miles in the car, much of it at motorway speeds and this is very very noticeable. When I have maybe sped up to overtake and then momentarily take my foot off accelerator then there is definitely a "miss". It happened time and time again and much as I tried to avoid it, 2500 revs in 6th gear is just the point where you are sitting at that 70/80mph speed.
No doubt they will still say nothing is showing up on the diagnostics though - where were we before diagnostic eqpt!!
Hi all,
I'm another new member but if been reading on here for quite a while.
I have, from new, a 2008 Altea XL 2.0 140 6000 miles and I have this same misfire at approx 2500 revs but I've only ever notice a slight miss at 70-80mph as mentioned above.
The only other thing I've noticed is a very slight weez or whine when changing up from second to third gear. It's a bit like those turbo dump valves that the boy racers have but it's very very faint and I think it's the clutch. You can hear it much better with the rear seat folded flat.
I am super fussy and notice every little thing and like I say it's not major but it could turn into something more in time. i will have it checked at the first service.
Regards
