No update with the coilovers, been texting my boyfriends brother and getting no reply at all. Which I'm getting pissed off about. The coilovers are at his unit with the rest of his cars, so I can't get them as the barn is locked by an alarm.

I'm starting to think it'll be easier if I buy springs and sell the coilovers now. Only thing holding me back is that its either 25/40mm (25 being too high still) or 35/35mm all round. Which for me, i'm not sure if its low enough at the back. Hmmm.

Id say stick with the coilies . You have them and everything that you will.need now.

Why doesn't your brother get them back for you and go elsewhere?

Its my boyfriends brother, dunno whats going on with him. I've been quoted £189 to fit coilovers. And thats a fair bit of money.

Dunno though, we'll see. I can't get them if he doesn't text me back as I need him to be at the unit.

No major update, but i'm planning on getting my coilovers back ASAP. Got my service on April 2nd (thank god my car won't stop dinging that its due everytime i get in the car!) and also my tax that month :( expensive month. So will then phone up the local motorsport garage place and get the fitted hopefully before Inters.

Got some savings so it should be fine. Only had the things for nearly 7 months! Never rely on some people.

Me too! Need to grab some v-maxx adjustable drop links too.
My boyfriends brother told me 'you don't need them so we won't put them on' pretty sure for a 2010 car I will be!

Not gonna be rolling around corners thanks. How much you above the wheel at the moment? or do you know how much it will be when they settle?

Need to know how much to lower it by before it settles.

Yeah the bloke who did my coilovers had to use the adjustable drop links so I would assume yours would be the same. I don't really know how much gap there is, still haven't measured lol. I have no idea how low the car will be when it settles but I was looking today and I don't think it is any lower at the front then it was without the coilovers. I won't adjust them again just yet coz knowing my luck I will adjust them and then wont be able to get over the speed bumps down my road when it settles lol.

The bloke who did mine set the fronts at about half way and I have taken them down another 5 threads, he said he set it at half way coz of previous experience with the coilovers settling to low down lol. He said he will adjust them again on the 23rd when I go back to have my tracking sorted and pay him the money.

Ah ok, thanks!

Think i'll go for a few inches above the wheels then if they settle it won't be too much. My drive is on a slight slope so don't wanna end up scraping it everytime lol.

I'm impatient lol. I want my low now and not have to wait for it to settle lol. I have to still be able to get over some speed bumps and into my nan's drive which has a slope up to it. I can get over the speed bumps ATM and get into my nan's drive but not sure if I will be able to when it settles lol.

I'm not really sure. I'm hoping it's not to long. I'm going to take measurements of how high it is tomorrow morning and then again on Sunday I think just to see if it has got lower or not. If it hasn't moved then I will adjust it again lol

Thanks Jay :)

Coilovers are now back in my hands (or boot lol) went to my local garage today and they are happy enough to do it. They said max should be 4 hours, an 1 hour per corner.

Total should be £192, gonna go there as they are local and have worked on my parents and brothers car and are very reliable. Gonna book it in for after my service (April 2nd) just need to determine a starting height. Don't want it scraping so gonna have to think about this and get myself the V-Maxx adjustable drop links ordered.

Yay!

Did get some funny questions.
"are you sure you want them fitted? You know its going to be more bumpy?"
"Why do you want them? We only ask as its normally guys that want them fitted"

Did make me laugh though.

Haha, I was like "Wellllll, you have to be different don't you"

Yeah it should look smart, just need to get SEAT to look at something when its in for its service. Every so often when i reverse and turn the wheel something underneath my side makes a weird clunking/clicking noise but its not every single time. So I guarantee they find nothing as it won't do it when they come to find it lol.

At least I'll be sitting low when we go to Inters!

:p

YOU'RE TELLING ME! Lets not even go to how long I've had them for now.

Just realised I only ordered 1 set of 5mm spacers for the front  Need to get another for the back so they don't look too sucked in when its down.

Order your GTI Ticket please too by the way lol ;)
