Just been out to give it a try to see if it was water and it's now dried out.
Still not starting but the clicking seemed to have calmed down at the first attempt but returned on the second...
All the noise is coming from the engine bay and not the actual relays.
i read on here that the fuel relay in the leon/toledo is the 109, which was supposively swapped for a new version at one point: the 643 (at least that's what the guy received from the dealers when he asked for a new one)
Battery connections all spot on. Just checked, the dash lights come on but when the clunking is going on in the engine bay the battery light flashes. None of them dim.
With that in mind baz it does point to the starter motor mate. It might be siezed which would stop it jump starting, i can imagine its about £100 for a new one so not to bad really, could be alot worse
you have to realize that a car battery loses power quickly if the car won;t start and you keep trying over and over again. Best bet if you are gonna continue trying, to put it on one of those socket loaders, or else you'll be stuck with a dead battery soon.
but myki if it is the starter motor he might as well try and give it a good wack first with a heavy blunt object and see if it starts then...that will rule it out for sure
Right lads everybody that said something to do with starter motor was correct. The connector was all corroded. Quick rub down with sand paper and it turned over perfectly. Covered it in electrical compound so no more rust.
