The car's not starting. I had it running eariler and all was fine, 20mins later i went to start the car to move it and nothing. All the dash lights come on as usual but it doesn't turn over, i can't hear the fuel pump priming either and something in the engine bay clicks fairly rapidly when i try to start it.

The battery is fine and i've also tried jump starting

Any ideas lads?

if it doesn't do anything like mentioned above, try wacking the starter motor once...works on older cars...

the fuel pump doesn't work off of the starter motor does it? So the fuel pump not priming is quite significant here isn't it, rather than looking at the start motor?

yeah but its not doing anything...no noise either...
so that would not make me look at fuel first.
If it was turning over and trying to start, but just not starting then I would say its either a fuel or ignition of the fuel problem. But the problem is before that even happens...
so I would say electrical power related

was just searching this problem, and saw a guy with cupra R 225hp leon that had similar problems. Also thought it was the ECU, but ended up being the Fuel Pump Relay...so check that too

The clicking sound does sound like a relay to be honest. Can anyone tell me which ones are the fuel and ignition relays??

I'll check the ecu for water as well.

Reuvers, Which relay is the fuel pump relay so i can check it?

Hmmm it's a new coolant temp sensor only a few months old, only done 7 miles:headhurt: But i'll go check it out as well. Cheers Myki

but the clicking is coming from the engine, and the relay is under the dash if I am not mistaking...

Rapid clicking normally means the starter motor but baz said hes tried jump starting it which would work even if the starter motor was gone. Could be the injectors clicking as there trying to fire it up

actually come to think about it. My car did this back last year and if i remember correctly it was the temp sensor. It sometimes wouldn't start. But after a few attempts it did.
