From memory - how to remove the bumper:

(All screws are torx-headed)

1) Remove the screws from underneath the bottom of the bumper. Depending on the length of your screwdriver, you might need to jack up the front or drive up onto blocks to get enough room.
2) Remove the screws from inside the leading edges of both front wheel arches (might need to turn the front wheels to get access, IIRC there are 3 or 4 screws per side, top one of which goes upwards)
3) Remove two screws from the front of the bumper. On my old TDI Sport, they were located slightly inboard from the foglights. You might need to get down and peer through the grill to see them.
4) Remove the screws from the top edge of the grille, either 2 or 4, can't remember now.
5) Carefully pull the bumper forward a little - remember the foglight wires are still connected and have very little slack.
6) Disconnect the foglight wiring and you can pull the bumper right off and put it to one side.

With the bumper off, you will see the headlights are secured with 4 screws - two of which are underneath and were hidden by the bumper.

However - you might be able to get access to your pipe by getting under and removing the undertray, I can't quite remember now.

I had to fix the very same fault once (pipe popped off intercooler) :)

And yes the oil for a PD130 MUST meet 505.01.

Once you've done it a few times it's very easy :D

When my pipe popped off, I was 2 or 3 miles from home on my way out to something I didn't want to be late to.

Limped home, threw some dirty clothes on, bumper off, pipe refixed, bumper back on, got changed again, all in less than 20mins if I remember correctly - was well impressed with myself !

Fixed!

Took about an hour to get the bumper off because of some awkwardly positioned screws and a car that's just too low - but once off, headlight came out in seconds - cleaned the pipe up and fitted the new one. Clips back on, headlight in and bumper on in about 10 minutes.

I'm going to take it to seat for them to sort it out properly, as the bumper isn't quite straight - and headlights will need aligning again so i might aswell let them sort it - but at least its driveable.

I'm also beginning to wonder if the pipe has been blowing for a while, as i'm not smoking nearly as much - and the car definately feels more responsive and a little quicker. Who knows though, i'm just glad it's working again :)

Cheers for all the help
