Any candy white FR's in uk?

About to order leon FR 2.0 TDi. Cannot decide on colour. I want original, but not garish. Thinking of either emocion or candy white. Seat dealer tells me they cant order in a candy white one. Apparently they haven't been able to for years. Does anyone know whether it is just CUPRA's on the road in white, or does anyone have an Fr in white, if so how did you get it? I dont understand how SEAT's new ad is of the one in white and in the brochure you can get the white in CUPRA and FR's only, but when i have enquired, i am told I cannot. Can anyone please clarify.
:confused::confused::confused:

I guess your dealer is just scared that you place an order for the Cansy White and then cancel it because if you do then the dealer is obliged to buy the car from SEAT themselves.

I would tell them they WILL order you one in Candy White or you take your business elsewhere. I would speak to the branch manager and tell him off.

I have sat in a Candy White FR at JCT600 in Leeds, they had one in the showroom a couple of months back so do exist.

I think Candy White had only just been released, I have a May 2007 Brochure and it isn't in there, but was on the website.

To be honet I don't think the dealers keep up to date with what colours are available.

white FR

Thanks SEADRAGON and PHIL3012.

I think you may be right on the "scared" aspect. He was saying that it simply isnt an option on the computer to order. All other colours are there, including the yellow, but because its not on there, he cannot order. He even said if he rang up, they would tell him that if it isnt on the system, then they cannot order one. I just dont get it. I am still a little confused on the colour thing anyway. Is the white a bitch to keep clean?

Also, quick question, which i know is bounded around this forum a lot. On 18's is it noticeably harder than on 17's. I has a test drive on 17's and thought it was hard enough, but really want to finish the look off with a nice set of 18's. I will be putting our 5 month old in the back occassionally, so it needs to be comfortable.

Hope to hear from you soon.

The dealer may be trying to persuade you to take a car out of stock rather than a build to order, without directly saying so. A dealer always prefers to source a car already built than do a factory build.

They can probably source an none white FR easily within the U.K for immediate delivery whereas White would be build to order due to the high demand.

white FR

do you think white FR's will be commonplace then? White or red, red or white AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!! I cant help thinking that the red FR looks like any other red car and yet any friends i talk to say go red! What do you think?

I think the red looks ok really but I love the white. White is becoming a more popular colour, just look at Vauxhall, Golf GTI, Audi and some other companies. Some already have white and some are introducing.

The white does show the dirt but I dont think it is worse than my black car, it just depends how anal you are about keeping it spotlessly clean, I am not lol.

When my white was ordered the colour wasnt on the system either, it is still a special order anyway for now.

If your dealer cant be bothered to help you then take your business elsewhere, simple

PS: I am used to hard riding cars and I have had worse so the ride on my FR doesnt bother me, but I definitely think the 18's look better than the 17's, no competition !!!!

I love the white.

White was all the rage especially on Hot Hatches in the 1980's but in general went out of fashion for a while. In fact certain cars only come in white (e.g. Series 1 Escort RS Turbo).

White is now coming back in, and VAG seem to be the first to cotton on to this. The Golf GTi looks amazing in white as did the FR that I sat in.

Not everyone is convinced yet, but they will soon change their minds.

Cheers Seadragon.

Notice you have Supagard. Is this an option at the dealers. If so, how much and is it worth it.. Thinking this will solve my worries over practicalities of white!

oh, just when you thought you had got rid of me....

Are rear parking sensors an option on FR. Brochure suggests not. Are they worth the hype, or just annoying. I have also noticed that in the brochure the rear number plate section is a nice glossy, body coloured panel - but in real life i think it cheap plastic. Is this cos the pics i am looking at have had the sensors fitted and that they come with a body colour panel surround?

I am not an expert on Supagard and its properties, it seems to be quite a personal thing but it gives me peace of mind to protect the paint from sun, bird poop etc, also the alloys and interior. I think it cost me £250 from the dealer.

I also got the side-skirts and got the mirrors colour-coded, looks much better.

Yes I am a bloke :) and you are welcome.

I am so happy with my car, the colour looks amazing and the skirts finish it off nicely. I am not going to do too much upgrading to it as I dont want to look like a boyracer but I am booking it in for an APR remap and I will maybe get the boot liner and thats about it.

Hope you give your dealer a good telling off, tell them to pull their finger out and maybe even to give you some kind of a discount for your mental trauma :)

I think the rear parking sensors can be fitted at the dealer but aren't a factory option on the FR or Cupra.

By the way I have the Autoglym lifeshine on my black Cupra, which is what my dealer offerred instead of Supaguard. In my opinion it is okay but not worth £250 or whatever the dealer wanted. I used it as a deal clincher and said if you put it on for free you have a deal.

Maybe about £500 discount or maybe some free servicing for the first year or a nice supagard care kit that I got, plus a free tank of petrol as well.

Back to work for me but good luck, dont take any crap off your dealer :) !!!
