Can anyone help me with a comparison between the FR and Cupra

Well I don't earn a huge amount of money but as I don't have a contract I cant afford to move out. So I don't have any major outgoings except my car and alcohol to be honest.

As for not getting the car now, I love driving more than anything. If it comes at a price tag I will have to pay it to be satisfied. So I think its going to have to be the FR unless a revelation comes on the cupra.

As for modding it, I don't think I will do that. Except maybe the spoiler which I have on my present leon. It looks a bit strange but after time you get used to it and its awsome. Can anyone tell me why its such a weird shape?

If you don't have a large amount of money, I wouldn't get a big loan just to buy a fast car.

If you plan to buy it on credit at the moment there is serious risk of negative equity unless you pay off a large amount each month.

A new Cupra for example loses about £7000 in the first year, that's just over £580 a month you need to pay off a month just to cover the depreciation. I imagine an FR is similar.

Just thinking in a few years time if you want a house, you still don't want to be paying off a car that you sold a long time ago. Like most people whether you get an FR or Cupra I'm sure you'll be bored of it in a few years time.

In the current market I would seriously look at a used one, especially if you don't have the money saved up. I am Mr always buy a brand new car not used, but when you can save as much on RRP as you can now just by buying an average mile one year old car, its worth considering.

Where did you get quotes from??
My fr tdi is £800 comp me n my bird
Cupra is £1600 comp me n my bird

And im 20. ???

That's crazy ! ! and I went to confused. I could ring around and get it a little cheaper I'm sure. And I had a small crash like 2 years ago. Very very unlucky with damage. Put it this way a car came down my right of way caused me to crash into the back of my friend at about 10mph. He had an old morris minor with a faked MOT so was all rusty AND had filed down his rear bumpers into pretty much two sticks that pierced my bumper. So yeah in a normal car I would have bounced off instead, his spear like things stuck into my car and his car bent and a pile of rust was actually left on the road lol.

Yeah I was going to buy second hand probs like a year or two old. That way I have at least 1 years warranty and dont have to face the massive depreciation. I bought my last leon outright. And should be able to get 8.5 - 9.2 k for it. Then all I need to find is another 4k from somewhere. So wont have the issue of negative equity. All though im told im foolish sticking all my money into a car.

Havn't looked into that much detail yet. Guess im going to be limited by what cars are available as I'm going second hand. At the moment I have this kinda bluey greeny colour and it looks pretty nice. Probs that or white.

I didn't think the mpg was much different between the FR and the Cupra I'm sure it's only 1 or 2 mpg difference.

I would be cautious about buying yellow, looks great but not popular and I have heard dealers refusing to take these in part ex as they can't get an underwrite on them.

I'd never have black again, too difficult to keep clean unless you are really into auto detailing. Needs a good wash and polish everyweek otherwise it just looks a mess. And then it only stays looking nice for a few hours.

Sorry having an fr 170 i always presume people are talking about the derv. If you dont mind the insurance being that extra £500 the go to seat and get the cupra but just blag your way through them saying you only have X amount. Its a buyers market.

location you lucky sod. I really dont understand why you essex boys pay so much less than us londoners when you have more young boy racers, and probably have just as many cars stolen and broken into.
