theres loads of room in there if you remove the SMIC, and have a FMIC. thats what i did.

you can also get a "jacket" for the filters, this stops the crap building up so quickly. They dont affect the flow rates (using vag-com to log) either. again, thats what i did.

Ive got a similar kit on mine, the pipework is aluminium though, also from a golf 4.

I had to cut the end of the pipe down a bit where it sits in the bumper as it was too long, guessing theres more space in a mk4 golf bumper lol!

Nice sound, especially when you let the revs build up slowly and let your foot off a bit you get a long woosh LOL!

Fitment looks just the same, i moved the battery (just for fitment space, back now) removed wheel and pulled back liner, you need to fit the pipe work first then fit the filter on while its inside the bumper... Tight! Only thing i need is a small samco bend as one of mine is too harsh....

the pupose of the cai is to relocate the filter inside the bumper, so its a whole new kit to replace the airbox with

problem is that the smic is there, on a mk4 golf the smic is on the othe side of the car so loads of room inside the bumper, not too bad once u got a fmic, just gotta work the intake pipe around the chassis

Yeh sounds nice doesnt it?

Did take quite a bit fiddling to fit, not 100% happy with the fit on mine but yours looks better!
