.......Hello Altea XL:D

Well it will be when Pedro gets his finger out and builds it.

After 3.5 years of happy Leon ownership I have decided that a change is due and something abit bigger is needed.

So I have ordered an Altea XL Stylance 140TDI in Luna Grey with the sports pack.

A big thank you to Mark @ Ted Johnsons for his friendly service and getting me the car I wanted at the price I wanted to pay.

Drove one a couple of months back, had it for 24hours so got a good feel for it. TedJ's had mine in overnight for something that needed sorting.

Don't think it was a top spec i drove, but I was suitably impressed with the ride, power and comfort.

You can certainly fit a load of stuff in them, as it came in handy. The new SCN banner frames arrived at work the same day I had the XL. They went in the back with ease, sadly the same can't be said of the Leon.

I was impressed with it on the test drive.

The 140 engine puuled almost as well as the 150 in the Leon but was alot smoother.

Interior space is very good, boot is alot bigger than it looks in the pictures and the rear seats, fold down arm rest and tables got the approval of my 4 year old.

Can't wait for it to arrive. Had to be a factory order as there are none in the country with the sports seats.:(

Hi Craig senior (or is that Senor now!)

Just to say we have had aan Altea 1.9TDI Reference for 1.5 years now and we love it to bits. Wife drives it for her work (covers around 25-30K a year) its only 105 but it feels great and the cornering and suspension / seating etc is great and comfortable on long runs.:D
Problems with front windscreen or wipers not "smearing"nothing visbily wrong with wipers and have tried to clean / scrub screen to no avail. [:@]New wipers are £48!!!!! and i hate the thought of buying them to find no difference?:help:

Would like the XL with the more powerful engine but this will have to do for now.:)

PS: I still love the Copen and we use it at weekends and when ever we can.

Just got an XL Stylance 1.9 this week. Well pelased good to drive, the engine is better than I thought it would be, a little growly and not quite as fast as I would have liked but I couldn't stretch far enough for the 140.

Still its a very comfortable, fun to drive family car, and it was under £13k.....

Hi Craig,
Yeah must be some contrary gene we share to be in these two clubs.:)
YEP really fancy next spring in York again with the Copen buzzing around the Dales:D.
Think that turned into a special event between the great weather some Daihatsu support and getting the route luckily near perfect.

Only thing is about Altea is the no spare weheel (ala Copen) my wife has had 2 punctures on the motorway and both times tyres shot and "foam" stuff NFU. They are looking for a lot of dosh for a spare (space saver or full wheel) but apparaently £50 option at time of sale of its not to late for you!;)

PS: trying to organise Oct Coen MEET soyh of Edinburgh!! if interested?

Looking in the specs, it seems that a space saver spare is standard on the XL.

I'll keep an eye out for the Copen meets, the Yorkshire one was great fun:D
