ok first up. i personally believe there is no other phone holding kit on the market that can compete with the Brodit stuff. that said (and as you will see below) i do believe this clip has a design flaw.

Anyway got in this morning after being out on the booze last night (not hung over but i know id been out the night before) and decide its time to play with the brodit clip and the Key Covers (see another post for Key Covers)

as ypu can see from the pics i thought id position the clip as far over to the left as possible and after installing it i couldnt get phone in so had to unmount it and use some more double sided tape and only 2 screws to hold it down.

any one thinking of getting one this is how they have to be installed so a bit of a design flaw.

might make another mount to screw to the brodit pro clip and then step it further to the left and then get all 4 screws in to the mount but for now it will do

Looks good (apart from the wallpaper on the phone, tsk tsk!). :)

In fact, I thought "snap!". As you can see below, I too opted to use two self-tappers only, to position the iPhone holder for easy access... although it's a very firm hold so I'm not worried - feels very solid!

edit, just seen the one above.

did you buy the mount and bracket seperately?

I'm currently trying to work out the best Brodit holder for my combination of iPhone 4S and Incipio Feather cover/case.
I had a slip/sleeve for my 3GS which meant the holder designed for the naked phone was fine. But I don't want to keep taking my 4S out of its cover so need one of the "fit phone + xxxx" holders... trouble is, there's too much choice.
Not sure if I need the one for "fits phone plus silicone sleeve" or "fits phone and original Apple bumper case" or "adjustable to phone plus case"..?

I want another Brodit but clueless which to buy atm. Has anyone else got a Brodit holder that fits an iPhone 4/4S and slim case, by any chance?

I bought mine separately (but from the same supplier in the same order). If you check out the distributor's website (linky), you choose the car/mount and the device holder separately. It's pretty painless. I've been chuffed with my Brodit kit hence me wanting to use the same for my new phone. :)

I've got one in mine that fits my 4 and wifes 4S and used to fit her 3GS all with cases on.
In Fact it will work with my 4 without a case at all just about, although its a bit loose.

The one i bought has 4 screws on the back that lets you adjust the width of the holder slightly which means you can make it fit all of the above.

The Part number is 511165

I have taken some photos of it in my car but can't post links yet i'm afraid.

Does that get in way of the stereo?

No, you can still access all the buttons on the stereo ok, however it does limit what will fit in the cup holder (no "Grande frappochinos"!)

I chose this position over the A pillar position because I have all the charging and aux cables coming out behind the cup holder (you can see them in the 2nd picture) so it makes it easy to charge etc
