Brembo refurbishing

I scraped the hard to get to parts and used a dremel wire brush tool i also used wet n dry paper.

Lol I know, I wouldn't have even started if I didn't see that post. I got the Hycote paint but I wasn't happy with the colour. So I went with the Hammerite Spray paint, which imo is a better colour match.

The color is just lets say a little more vibrant.

Mine no longer match my rears but they always look clean.

They look good. Yeah that's the other thing, i've got to do the rears aswell, I'm gonna do them when it gets a bit warmer. I can't be arsed to do them in this cold weather.

I did both the rears and fronts on mine. I used a brighter red which I think looks 10 x better than the nasty sahde they use as standrd

Heres an update on my brembos, because of the cold weather i put them on hold, but now one is completed the second just needs the Brembo decal sticking on and a few coats of laquer to seal it in.

There gleaming at the moment but it won't be long before there full of sh*t and dust . Can anyone recommend a good brake fluid and will i need to do a full bleed when fitting them?

just to DP, I find using a paintbrush and just normal car shampoo gets rid of all the crap. Mine are still bright shiny and red over year after refurbing them

No chance lol, if i had to do them again i'd just strip them myself then get them powder coated. In all though it only cost me £30, that was for the paint, laquer and nitromors, so i can't complain at that.

powdercoated, would it not be affected or sprayed into the piston recess, i wonder if i stripped mine if i get them coated how much it may be,

If you mask the pistons off then no paint will get onto them. I have no idea how much powder coating would cost though.

if your carefull enough with it, use a tiny bit of alloy wheel sealant carefully on the painted bits, so that the brake dust washes off, be carefull not to get it on any braking surface though as it wont be very good.

Outer piston seal sizes are 36mm & 40mm - you will need 4 of each.
