Hi!

After a lot of thought I finally decided to go into LC Charles to look at the LCR (discussed in the post below) that had been just been delivered...

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=105098

I took the car for a test drive and instantly fell in love. The car was first registered on 04/05 and was in A1 condition. The car was on the forecourt for £14,495 but after a bit of persuasion I managed to reduce the price to £13,800. Needless to say I’m very pleased as the car drove really well. The salesman did however mention that the car felt "tight" in comparison to a lot of other LCR's that he has driven. He put it down to the fact that it's not been ragged as the previous owner was slightly older than the average LCR owner. Do you think this is likely and should I expect it to loosen up (it has only done 9,000 miles)??? I have been assured that the car has been fully checked out by a mechanic and it has been given the all clear.

Here are some pictures I took on Friday...I pick her up next Monday :)!

I was hoping the pictures would have come out a little better but unfortunately it was a miserable day!

P.S. 6 months tax and ½ a tank of petrol was also chucked in. I asked for mats too but I was told they no longer sell them. Sounds like a fib to me L…

Cheers
Alex

Cool, nice one!
Should be fully loosened up by now but give a good go and after the first service it will probably be a little friskier as 9k is still low millage, especially if it was all motorway for example.
As you got money off a trip to REVO........... per chance......
Well I would drive it standard for say a few thousand then get a remap as you'll appreciate it more.

Enjoy.

It had its first service 500 miles ago (8,500). Should I be concerned by what the salesman said? I have got 18 months Warrantee on the car so I guess if something goes wrong I can just take it back to be looked at.

Is e-bay the best place to buy some mats??

Hi Al G, I bought an LCR from L C Charles 2 weeks ago and actually took your car out for a test drive!!! I didn't thrash it so don't worry. I ended up buying a 54 plate Platinum Grey LCR with 20k on the clock as it felt much better and I got a much better price on it. It might be that the car's had an easy life.

Did you buy it from Gavin or John?

Hi Mate,

The car you drove was sold the weekend before last. I was supposed to go and look at it but it was sold before I got chance.

I was told by Andy (the guy I have been dealing with) last Monday that he had sourced another car. This car was delivered last Thursday at 19:00 and I went to look at it the following day.

Did the car you drove have Sat Nav??
How much did you buy yours for fella??

Cheers
Alex

Hi Alex,

When I went in (2 weeks ago now) they had a 54 and an 05 both in Platinum Grey. Can't rememer the reg of the 05 but had 9000 miles on but no sat nav. I got mine for £12000 with a good trade in for my LC.

Sounds like they can get hold of Cupra R's there fairly quickly. Are you local Alex?

Sounds like a good deal mate. How many miles has yours clocked?

I live have 2 homes fella. One in Manchester and I also spend a lot of time in Bunbury, Nr Tarporley. Where are you from?

Yeah sounds like they can get hold of LCR's quickly. I was told the bloke who bought the 05 plate traded in his rover 200 (valued at £200) and bought the LCR for the asking price (£14,495). I'm not sure how true ths is though????

I live in Northwich so not that far from you.

The bloke who traded in his Rover is going to feel like he's riding a scud missile in his LCR. That was the asking price for the 05 LCR so maybe he did cough up that kinda cash.

Did they flog you a service package or did you side step it?

No thats not far mate. My brother went to Sir John Deans College in Northwich.

There was no mention of a service package mate. What does it entitle you too and how much is it???

How many miles has your LCR clocked fella?

Cheers

I have to have my say about this.

I purchased my LCR from L.C.Charles about 5 or 6 months ago and have to say it has been the worse purchasing experiance i have ever had to endure.

I have been lied to and fobbed off from beginning to end, and one of the participants in this includes one of the joke "salesmen" mentioned earlier in a post!!!

The aftersales service has been nothing short of unbelievably bad to the point that i have had to invlove Seat UK to try and rectify some warranty issues that have now been outstanding for 5 months!!!

One example :
When i bought my car it was due for new rear shocks and on collection i was assured this work had been done, took the car for tracking ( which they were supposed to have done!!) and whilst on the ramp noticed no one had been anywhere near the shocks.

Then noticed the inside of front tyres was bald.....this list was endless and am still trying to get things rectified now.

I would never recommend anyone i know to use this dealer and am put off using main stealers indeffinately due the unprofessionalism displayed at L.C Charles.

Rant Over.

Its always the same with SEAT dealers they are great when you go with the 15 grand to buy a car...they not so great when you go back...I had no end of trouble from SEAT Premier in Stoke to the point i also rang SEAT UK (might aswell not bothered) so i took it to LC charles and they have been great...
Let us know how youu get on with SEAT UK
