Isn't there a permant live on the top of the fuse board you can use so it keeps the memory?

Are you sure it is actually surposed to keep the colour you had [silly question but some of the cheaper guages prob don't]

Yes leave the other 2 where they are

they do if they have a permanent supply...it basically goes into standby mode when you switch off your ignition.. but at the moment, its as though your unplugging it when you switch off

Just to confirm I fitted my gauge yesterday and used the thicker yellow and green cable as my earth, the solid red one as the permanent live and the wire to the side of the live wire going towards the edge of the connector, think it may be the 2nd wire in as my switch live.

The yellow from the gauge is perminant live,
connect orange and purple together and connect to switch live,
Black is the earth.

Yeah It remembers what colour that I have selected, just want to say that my boost gauge only lights when I turn my lights on, I just took a tap off the light switch, if you want them to come on when the ignition is turned on then will have to take a tap off another wire.

Just an update dont use the earth on the connector, use an eylet terminal and bolt it to an earth point.
I was having issues with the eath wire on the connector, when going to full beam the earth was being lost and the dial would stop lighting.

I just used the earth point under the dash can easily be seen, any good earth point will do though.

If i used the earth that goes into the wiring then the live drops when going onto full beam, if i use the chassis as earth the live stays, so I dont know if the earth switches if different relays are used for side lights and full beam.

Anyway it works when using chassis as the earth so just pointing out incase anyone else has experienced similar faults.

Yeah thats the same as mine, use the solid red for live, and the smaller grey/yellow beside it for switched live and used the chassis as earth.

Can use the larger black/red cable as your switched live if you want the boost gauge to light as soon as the engine is started, i wired mine so that it came on when the lights were switched on.
