Ive just refitted my cone filter. I took it off in the summer as the warmer weather was really affecting performance. I went for the smoothed box and green pannel filter instead. I'm loving having all the turbo and DV noise back :) Can't wait to see if the heat shield works well, I've been looking for a good one for a while

This weekend I have mostly been smoothing....Airbox! + fitting a 3" feed, drilling holes and putting in the green cotton filter.

...

It feels a bit more responsive and Oh So Much Louder! The DV is so loud now it sounds like darth vader in the glove box!!

why does it feel more responsive? im new to this and whated to know what has made the difference in response and noise?

where and why do you drill holes in the air box?

:) car looks awsome!!!!!

Have a search for smooth airbox guide by D.K.

It basically allows more air to be drawn in so the throttle is more responsive as air goes in quicker.

The holes only go below the air filter otherwise crap can go through into the engine. They allow air to go in a bit quicker and it sounds a bit louder too. Especially if you remove the bonnet lining.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately my front discs are warped now, but it gives me the opportunity to upgrade a little more :) much to the disappointment of my bank account:blink:

Hey Ben, the Leon's looking good, it sounds like you've been busy! How does it go now with Stage 2 and all the bits to compliment it? Should fly I reckon :)

Thanks. It goes really well now. It's like I have another turbo from about 5k revs. Pulls harder from higher speed and it's a lot easier to control boost with throttle.

Headlamp protectors were about £23 from dealers on the 'discount shelf'.

Sounds great. What make exhaust? Cat-Back ot Turbo-Back?

Thanks. It's a turbo back blueflame with 100cell race cat.

good thread this buddy, nice car

what do you think of the jabba induction kit? you notice any difference at all? oh and where you get them leon stickers from? they are cool

Thanks Bret. Your car is sweet too...nice and subtle.

It's the Jetex cone with the Jabba heat shield. It is nice and responsive with the jetex cone and was getting MAF readings of around 210g/s IIRC. I haven't had a chance to log it yet with the heatshield to see if it makes a difference.

Stickers here: http://www.volkswagenstickers.co.uk/ or ebay.

Some of them are hilarious! :)

Any issues with the EML yet? Mine was fine for 2wks, then came on for 2wks and now it's just gone off again, I don't think the car can't make it's mind up whether it's happy with the higher flow or not. Either way I have a spacer on the way to prevent any future issues.
