Just had my car back from a repair shop following a accident. They had to replace the bonnet. I noticed straight away that the shut lines around the bonnet look bigger than before. I measured the gap roughly and it’s between 7-8 mm. does anybody have any idea what the gap should measure? I was was not in when the car was delivered back to me.

Just checked my car and the gaps are around 4-5mm at the sides and between 6mm and 7mm at the front. Difficult to measure accurately as my caliper batteries are flat so had to use my ruler. The gap is pretty consistant at both sides even though the picture makes it look a bit different.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve raised a complaint with the insurance company and the manager of the repair branch has been out to see the car, he thinks the gaps are correct, but he’s going to to do some research into what the gaps should be. So we will see what response I get.

Mine is between 2-4 mm all the way around. I checked with plastic spacers and the 5 mm wouldn't fit in anywhere. 8 mm seems a bit high

That does look quite a big gap at the front. Maybe OP's has always been like it is now and never really had to pay attention before
