Recently been getting a rough idle then my temp gauge started fluctuating, also if I removed the header tank cap when up to temp the coolant would boil over, I was getting steam from the oil filler cap and engine was breathing heavy

I done an chemical head gasket test today and it was positive, :cry:vit had detected exhaust gas in the coolant

So I went and bought some steel seal earlier, so called money back guarantee, I though might a well give it a go, Iv got nothing to lose

Anyway to my amazement it's actually worked,, engine is idling really smooth, header tank isn't boiling over, the steam coming from oil filler has reduced loads and breathing a lot better,,

I used that stuff in my old Pug 306 to fix a water leak in a metal pipe union.
It fixed the leak good ‘n proper, but also blocked all manner of other things and 3 months later the head gasket had blown where 2 cylinders we not getting any coolant.

I will never use it again on any car that I want to keep.
However, this is only my personal experience, so you might get on OK with it.

as has been said its only a temporary fix. it may last a week it may last a year. best thing to do is to get the head fixed before any real damage is done. if you do get it fixed make sure to flush the coolant system of the additive as to remove the risk of it clogging up else where in the system.

I won't be doing the head gasket, if this doesn't work then I will be breaking it! It's got loads of new parts on it,, turbo, drive shafts, solid flywheel and clutch, all replaced in the last 2k miles,,

This car has give me nothing but ****,, it's by far the worst car Iv ever owned, worse then my Renault5 turbo and that done nothing but f^<king break down every other time I used it

Sprogpole, was it steel seal that you used? It's a very bright green/yellow colour,, There's loads of other brands on the market that claim to seal head gaskets, that are full of all sorts off ****, copper, metal , slime, etc

I done my research on this, there's thousands of reviews priasing this product, and recommending it, steel seal is a clear liquid, there's no nasty's in there to clog anything up,

From what Iv found out on the old tinternet, it circulates the engine, when it comes in to contact with extremely hot tempurtures, ie, blown head gasket, cracks, warped heads, any where that's leaking creating very hot temps and forms a chemical reaction supposedly as hard as steel, so called permanent fix, I hope it is,, it reacts in minutes and seals the leak/s and any of the steel seal left in the system just continues to circulate the system, or so they say

I used the car today, done about 20 miles in it and still good upto now, so fingers crossed
