Depends what sort of budget you have cause there are thousands of options depending on the amount of money you want to spend.
From experience i would recommend the following
£10-£20 - Collinite 476s, PoorBoys Natty Blue, Chemical Guys xxx, Megs no.16
£20-£30 - DoDo Juice Hard Candy
£30-£40 - DoDo Juice Rubbish Boys Juiced Edition, DoDo Juice Purple Haze Pro
Over that i have tried DoDo Juice's DetailingWorld Double Wax (2 seperate waxes that you layer over each other). That retails at around £70 for the full size pots. Then there is DoDo Juice Supernatural wax which retails for around £90, this is their top end wax and is pretty special.
You can also get any of the DoDo Juice waxes in panel pot size (30ml) which doesnt sound like a lot but will give you around 5-6 layers on a Leon or Ibiza is applied properly.
As i said, there are thousands of waxes and sealants out there, the above are what i have used and would recommend to anyone. Generally the more expensive waxes offer better durability and add a little something to the finish but the ones in the sub £20 bracket are very good products for the money and shouldnt be excluded.
In all cases the finish that the wax gives is only as good as the prep... having a finish pre wax which isnt right will decrease the finish of the wax and cause disappointment. If you have a good finish the wax will enhance it.

Hard Candy is a really nice wax... smells fantastic.
Its a hard generic wax, generic in that by design you can use it on any colour car... some of the waxes are colour charged and although you can still use them on anything, they work better with the colour they are aimed at.

the white dodo waxes are aimed at white/silver cars
(but i went with hard candy cos its IMPOSSIBLE to see white wax on my car lol)
I got this on my Sea Grey Mondeo using Nattys Blue
The little white spots you can see near the door handle is metallic flake... Nattys Blue seems to really make this pop.
This is what i have achieved on my Leon with DoDo Juice PH Pro... barring in mind PH is supposed to be colour charged for darker / warm coloured cars, i cannot fault the results.
This was taken on my phone so the brighter parts have blown... you get the idea though.
Dont get too hung up on colour charged waxes... you will struggle to actually see the difference they make with the naked eye.
id try a few panel pots. dodo do them ,and there are a few others. ive had dodo juice blue velvet pro come today to try.

In the cheaper range Nattys Paste Wax (white one) or Chemical Guys XXX Hardcore Paste Wax, next step up would be the Collinite 476s which I'm using on my silver FR and am very happy with the results. Then Dodo Juice diamond white or light fantastic and if you're feeling flush, Dodo Juice Supernatural ...I've yet to try this but have heard loads of good things about it. I'm too scared to buy a panel pot coz I might end up with yet more 'hardly used' waxes in the shed lol.

Hard to apply, could hardly see any haze, an then hard to buff off In contrast the Lime Prime is incredible! So easy to use, yet so effective!!
Think next time i will use a soft dodo juice wax rather than the hard ones.

I used to use Harly Wax on my Platinum LCR, and still use it on my Urano Grey Exeo.
Very easy to apply, and easy to buff off as long as you don't leave it too long to cure. I tend to do 1 panel, leave it 1min to sure, then buff off.
I think it's about £20 for a large-ish tub. Need to get myself a new tub thinking about it.... I'm down to the bottom of the tub in the middle, with just the edge bits left!

Being hardly able to see any haze is a good thing, it means you have applied a nice thin layer and have not wasted any product...
How long did you leave it to cure before buffing ? Was the car in direct sun light as this can speed up the curing process.
What type of applicator were you using to apply it ? i use a german applicator to apply Hard Candy as the larger applicator and slightly firmer sponge makes it a bit easier.
The softer waxes are easier to apply but they are also easier to waste by applying too much...
