Hi guys, the next week I will get my Cupra MK3 2019, and aas usual I want a healty life for my car. I'm living in Croatia but I have access to the whole Italian market if needed. What would be the best engine oil to use and which one for the gearbox? I really would love to use something that will help improve the life span of the car

For your engine oil, as long as its approved to VW standard 504 and either 0w30 or 5w30 it will be fine.
You will need 5.7L.
504 is apparently a tough spec so any oil approved to this standard would be a good oil.

The only way to really tell how your engine is internally is to do an oil analysis at each oil change - which is seldom done. As long as you are using the correct oil and changing it in a timely manor there isn't much more you can do.

For you gearbox - depends on DSG or manual?
Again I would pick an oil approved to the correct standard and you can't go far wrong.

VW list all approved oils - if you search for it - so you can double check the oil you are looking at has actually been approved by VW.
Legally it needs to say approved to...
Equivalent to, or recommended for are NOT the same and I would avoid.

I see, thank you. This will be my first "performance" petrol car so, is there any difference between 0w30 and 5w30 oil for the engine. And I will have a 7 speed DSG gearbox

If you get very cold winters go with the 0w30. If not either.

Your DSG7 OGC oil spec is VW G 055 529 A2. A refill should take 6L.
There's lots of posts/debate on the change interval for this DSG7 box, official interval is 120,000km - but some change it at the old DSG6 of 60,000km.

Is it 4drive?
You will also have a haldex diff to change.

If its FWD - I think they have the VAQ haldex diff in the front axle which also needs oil change.

I have a 2015 ST280 and have 0W30 now, but will switch over to 5W30 with stage 2 in mind. Just buy a reputable brand with the specifications that @SuperV8 mentioned. I have been using LiquiMoly or Motul for my cars over the last years.
