Looking to upgrade to a bigger and better intercooler leading up to summer. I know of the Forge intercooler at £658.00 from Awesome and the APR intercooler at £809.00 from Awesome. But are these really the best out there? My experience with Forge is mixed to say the least.

I'm thinking Wagner but like all FMIC for Cupra, it has to be slightly modified

It's the holder for radiator/Intercooler that needs cutting for it to fit.when it's off about 10 min to modify it as per instructions

The fitting instructions are for a vw not a Cupra they are fitted differently, the Cupra has a housing around the rad/air con/Intercooler which needs modifying

Peron are a pain in the rear! I spoke to them before the Cupra 280 came out and said they would do one... almost 2 years down the line.

Wagner for me. but to be totally honest unless your running a balls out stage2 setup IC isn't really needed.

The standard intercooler on the 280 is very poor in my opinion, the engine runs far too hot, so for the sake of longevity I think an intercooler upgrade is worth it. Will be going stage 1 soon, so the intercooler can be a half-way upgrade.

The stock intercooler used in the Cupra is really not bad, it is quite good in fact.
Mounting a bigger downpipe with a racecat brings much more because the heat isn't stowed anymore behind the turbo and the turbo itself will thank you for that.
The stock intercooler works very well up to 400 Ps and even more.
Check this out here, they achieve 480PS on a Golf7R (exactly same engine as the Cupra) with the stock intercooler but it is in German language. Runs like hell and just look at this video where you can see what they modified and all this with the stock intercooler which really performs well.

Engine runs extremely hot but, we did a logging session on my car in Stage1 an Stage2 and the logs were alot better than expected.
