In my LeonFR 2.0 TDI
that imply's that it wasnt screwed in correctly at the factory, another fine example of some plod on a production line not being bothered.

Shame really, I've already packed up my tent from camping out at the dealers and I dont really want to go there again for a while as most of my milage is just to and from the dealers.

You are right carnivor... and it did take 5 days to figure this out which annoyed me (maybe it was the 1.4 loan car!!) I am glad its done though!

ITS FIXED!!!
Although it sounded like it was coming from the B Pillar at sort of ear level (which made me suspect the seat belt assembly) it ended up being the door locking mechanism rubbing inside the door. Was at the stealer for 5 days and I threw my toys more than once but in the end I am ecstatic.

Oh... and getting back into my FR after almost a week in a 1.4 Ibiza is better than sex (well almost)

THANK YOU for information. You may be a lifesaver here. Will call the dealer for repairtime. But it really sound right at ear level...

Strange as i had a very similar sound, creaking when going over bumps, accelerating or braking and worse in hot weather. Dealer replaced the hinge and no noise for 3 days...

Any more info on this one? Have just picked up a new Leon 1,8 TSI and have this noise. Only difference for me is that in Sweden left side is my driver side! Sorry to take up an old thread but maybe some news on this matter.

Could always be the window regulator as I had an issue with that at new.

Sounded like a rattle coming from the B pillar but if I put the window down very very slightly the noise went away.

I had this problem, horrible cringe worthy "sqeak" and it was the seat belt mechanism that needed tightning (no a good thing to come loose) but the dealers fixed in fast and hasn't been a problem since, I can also confirm that when I crashed, the seat belt mechanisms and pretensionners worked perfectly.

The window regulator is not responsible for my noise, tested that. Seat belt mechanism sounds more possible. It is a metallic to metallic sound. Any hint more specific what was done at the workshop? What bolt? Since I drive on the left side this noise comes direct into my left ear, maks me go mad! (more mad that is)

I'm afraid I don't know for sure but from the source of the noise I would say the roller itself.

I will use all info from this thread when I "bug" my workshop. Many thanks!

My left side B-pillar (driver's side) had a squeak that started about a month ago. Yesterday I had my car washed and after the wash I proceeded to thoroughly dry the door seals round the car so that they wont freeze. After that the squeak was completely gone! So I advice all to throughly clean the doors, as that seemed to do the trick for me. Propably wont hurt to add some thick grease to the locking latches.

I managed to completely sort this problem out today!!

My B Pillar on the passenger side was squeaking all the time, especially when turning left at slow speed. It made me want to sell my car.

The fix...

I had the passenger side window down and I jiggled the door. I found that the door wasn't completely shutting flush to the door frame; it moved slightly when I pushed it shut and made a knocking noise.

There is a metal loop on the door frame, which the door locking mechanism locks into. I loosened the loop off and you can move it around. I moved it slightly closer to the car and tightened it up. Hey presto no more squeaking!!

Makes sense really. The door acts as added support to the B Pillar

Hope this helps someone else
