Surely you could just cut the end off and tig weld an fitting you want on there, eg -4 JIC Male connection and get -4 JIC Female ended hoses made up and pressure tested from Pirtek etc

No I haven't bill, sounds like my suggestion wouldn't be feesible.
Could a fuel rail be fabbed out of 3/8" SS tube with 1/4" SS tube feeds to the injectors?
Then you could have the above fittings welded up.
Or is the shape of the fuel rail important?

if you wanted -an lines then just get a RMR fuel rail.

tuffty is after splicing in a -an fitting type fuel pump into the push fit oe pipes tho which is a different thing

my ibiza is all -an fittings front to back and in fittings alone cost >£200 nice and all that but oh so dear.

i will look to get some -an adaptors machined up so screw end pumps like 044 etc can be dropped into stock fuel filter locations like pauls doing.
will be made in stainless i think. i dont like the idea of plated fittings underneath the car in uk weather

Bill if your wanting a good price on hydraulic fittings we have several companies in Aberdeen that manufacture these in 316, 600, 712 and 800.
If you want to give me a shout with sizes etc I can see what I can sort out in Aberdeen.
You could set up an account and get a discount off of these too.

Sunday:
Started by cleaning up the stuff left in the cleaning booth overnight. Sump needs a bit more work (Bloody AVS, oil baked on to the sump!!!)

Cleaned up the piston, decoked and cleaned out ring slots. Rings looked fine so just did a fine hone of the bores to deglaze.

Pistons and rods ready to be sorted

I have removed the K04 but not had a good look at it yet.

Few more oil/water pipes to remove and also the OEM downpipe.

Started cleaning the head, other than it being grubby there is nothing more to do there but I have but the cam cover in the cleaner to get rid of the AVS grunge...

Offered up the 330mm discs with the calipers today too... brackets will be sorted tomorrow, just a minor tweak to get the offset right then they can be supplied for those bargain AP calipers on ebay....

Monday evening will consist of dry fitting the turbo/mani to Bills spare engine to mock up the 3" DP, oil and water lines and fitting the S3 charge pipe brkts etc to work out what we need to do to get it attached to the turbo.

Not sure where the receipt is but they were roughly a fiver each for the 4 lower halves and a tenner each for the four upper halves... no idea why Audi charge differently but all the stores guy said was that Audi have a bizarre pricing structure sometimes...

The bam engine has standard bearings top and bottom so they should have been the same price. There is an option for a 'sputter' bearing as the top bearing, but there are even more expensive. I can do a full set of standard bearings for £30 + Vat and the sputters for £75 + Vat.

These were big end bearings not mains. IIRC, the top shells had a violet stripe on them. I questioned the pricing at the time but they said thats the price Audi have it marked at...

When I find the receipt I'll post the part numbers... bear in mind that these were from and Audi dealer not a motor factors or a SEAT dealer etc... pricing could well be different depending on what VAG main dealer you go to.

Small update as I have been back at work today so only spent a few hours at the workshop tonight...

Started mocking up the TIP. Used a couple of stainless steel 1D bends that are usually reserved for downpipes but as they are short with a tight bend I reckoned they would be ideal to see what I could do with getting everything to clear.

Mocked up using the bends and a couple of 90 degree silicon elbows. Cut a little off the end of the silicon elbow on the turbo to get it to clear the gearbox cables and not foul anything, then I pushed one of the SS bends in and positioned it so it would clear all the pipework and have a decent gap away from the bulkhead. I fitted the another SS bend to the other silicon elbow and fitted that to the MAF on the airbox... bit of jiggery pokery and it all lined up nicely. I marked where the 2 SS bends joined and pulled it all apart so I could assemble and tape together to see if would go back together OK... result.. it did...
20090921_CRW_3744.jpg

However the SS bends are actually tighter than the alloy ones I had so I marked up the alloy bends carefully and cut them... they were a little out... I had not taken into account the bend on the 90 degree alloy elbow... when placed together they turned in too far... DOH!!

Luckily Bill's right hand man Tony was there at the time and showed me a little trick using a jubilee clip (insert your own gag here)... the clip will follow the bend of the tube and give you a square face to cut along. I only needed to cut a little wedge off and bingo, it all fitted perfectly. (thanks Tony)

Next time I am in the workshop I will be looking at where to position the outlets on the TIP for the DV, N75 and breather system connections. All it will then need is TIG'ing up and that will be the TIP complete.
