@ruivo Nice to see you've taken the plunge for the air intake.

Mind if I suggest to take a serious look on a coolant hose relocation like this one?

Basically re-routes the coolant hose is seen in the first image of your second post. Relocates that hose making a more tidy look.

I've got one, but it looks like ours is thicker than the golf one

I'm not particularly happy with this gap:
IMG_20210320_165303.jpg

As you can see, right bellow is the radiator fan. This means hot air scaling up and probably being sucked by the filter.

I'm not in the mood to duck tape the gap, nor have any material to seal without making it look bad.

I'll probably remove it and reselling it for some golf r owner as awesome gti does not accept returns

That's a big (and expensive) Ouch!.

Never liked those cone filters residing on engine boot (low-pressure zone and lots of heat coming from the engine.

Formentor is really new and aftermarket brands didn't catch up on it so many things is a hit and miss. Spent some hours with a shop checking for some parts that could serve to Formentor and was a complete trainwreck.

The unique thing that we found that works without any kind of problems is the intercooler for MQB (crosschecked stock part numbers on ETKA) many others would not fit or weren't appropriate. We checked too parts for Leon4 (KL chassis code) and the results were... disheartening.

\I was expecting that outcome already, so no bother. I hope I can sell it quickly to any of the other supported car's owners haha.

Next one to try will be the Racingline R600 airbox, as soon as I get some money back from the previous purchase haha

Admire your suicid... erm! braveness... :ROFLMAO:

Take a detailed look on those two images I post. Are the airbox assembly of Formentor and Ateca. I know they use different engine codes but confirmed on racingline website they fit for Cupra Ateca from 2018. Take care, looks can be deceiving and incur in a second big 'Ouch!'

I'll add here a third one, our 'cousin' VW T-Roc R... this looks somewhat promising doing a quick comparison of part numbers. Look:

Finally sold the thing. Apparently Irish Golf owners don't like to spend that much on an airbox.

What's the next one I should try? thoughts? haha.

I'll be doing a tryout with the R600 Cup Edition soon. Hope this one fits!

This exact one you sent won't fit. That's for sure.

I'll try this one now, but with the cotton filter:

Is the EA888.4 much different to the EA888.3? Cause that filter you linked is also for the EA888.3

It's more about the design of the front grill in this case. The big box has the front component that needs to match with the front of the car, which is different in our case.

The open air one seems to be less of a tight fit, and looks like it would bend to fix any gaps if necessary.

Yeah good shout, that makes total sense!

You'll have to let us know how you get on with the install, I would like to do one myself
