I think they are a waste of money, I noticed no difference at all from mine so I sold it about a month after installing it.

My friend has one fitted and after moving the air pipe it makes a nice sound but thats it!

well wot did u expect? its just an airfilter at the end of the day

Im a fan of the modified airbox. Ther was a good tech articule on 'tinternet explaining why airboxes are better, flow, pressures and ram air effects etc. Worth a read if your into that sorta ****.

I know this now mate, but I had previous turbo cars, and I HAD noticed a difference when changing the air filter.

I think back then i'd been reading too much Max P0wer though, the shame!

Plus you didnt give it time, to settle in, it becomes more free flowing after a couple of hundred miles.

Crikey it's so confusing looking through all the posts and wondering which one to buy!!!!

The search button turns up some interesting reading.

The Ram Air one seems to be one of the better ones according to Bill, except you need to fit some sort of rubber mounts?!?!?!

WTF?!

But it's all a learnign curve. Everyday's a school day and i'm loving finding out al the new bits about the car.!!!

I think you just have to get what you want and not what others say to be honest as everyone has different opinions of everything! What one person likes the other may not and what someone else doesnt like someone else does, so its difficult to know what to do

A good way to decide if you are really stuck is write down what each filter is and then write the pros and cons of each one, that may help with your decision

This can help with other things you are getting too

Even though im saying all this i know how hard it is to follow peeps advice but you have to remember things like this sometimes are down to the car and the persons choice

LOL Slightly! (more everyday, when the same question is asked!)

Although i do understand that people want personalised replies, even if the top post is the same as they want to ask!

it's not the fact that i want other's opinions on what i should get, i want to understand what each does and make a decision based on that.

If we can't ask people who know, what's the point of us being on a forum. The search button works a treat on this site, it's an awesome amount of info, but sometimes questions just have to be asked. And being a mod from another site, i know how annoying...SEARCH THE SITE....can be!!!

mine's lowered cupra girl, i went for that first!!!!

personla choice hey!!! Actually the root of all evil is choice.

Yeah i agree! It would be a good idea to list all the different filters and their jobs with pros and cons on each one too and then peeps can just do a searchy and find that on there?

I think what peeps were getting at is that some peeps sign up on here and on their first thread they ask about filters which have been discussed numerous times without doing a searchy

I couldnt get mine lowered first because of money but i hope to get that done by August if i can ;)

by what i meant was...its just an air filter do u really think one is better than the other? the truth is its the feed of cold air thats important not the shape or size of the cone,

everybodys different and some ppl wont accept other peoples decisions but its just an air filter

sound is relative the positioning of the filter and air feed not the filters, ok the cans which some filters come with have some effect but not a great deal tbh

when its the same question over an over Jabba, green or ramair? it just gets so flipping annoying! cos its just an air filter :roflmao:

so when i see some ppl fretting over what to get...why not just get the cheapest? cos it really makes little difference

I see what your getting at! There must be some difference though between spending £35 on an Open Filter and £220 on an Open Filter, you know?
