i got a twin 3 inch box off a mk3 on my mk2 . had to have a 'reducer' in the pipework.. not too noisey ( thankfully)... but does give a half decent burble..wouldnt say its increased bhp,or if it hAS done its not really noticeable....... just looks a lot better than the 'limp penis' look on the 'stock' exhaust........... confuses a lot of peeps too....i'll have to see if ive any pics of it on my 'main' pc..(dont store any on my laptop)..........

cool pics would be good. did you not get the full system then? i think im going to just get a piece of pipe and attatch that instead of the cat... (aswell as the 20vt exhaust) seems ok to me? anything wrong with it that may be obvious i havent thought of. emissions obviously will be screwed but thats why i thought clamping the pipe instead of welding so i can swap back to my cat if and when

I've sent you a pm mate. Yes I've fitted one to a mk2 16v. Easy to do as it's exactly the same as the 16v exhaust, just different tailpipe.

Very slightly louder than standard and looks nicer, other than that, there's no difference.

A word of warning though... It's a straight swap onto a 16v as the pipes are the same size, but on an 8v, I believe the exhaust is slightly thinner, so won't go straight on without modding.

I'll dig ut my old photos and post them up.

Telford ay it...
Regarding the CAT, you will loose low down torque if you remove it.
I was thinking of doing it to my 8v but people put me off it in the end.

Won't it gain more at the top end of the revs though cos it can flow more gas easily ?

Be interested to know as its on my very long list of things to do with my car :)
