I have connected the yellow lead into the back of the head unit in the "rear view camera input" port. Connected the + and - from the number plate light to power the camera led and the + and - on my reversing light bulb also to the camera. I still have no image though on the screen. There is another lead from the head unit that is purple and white which on the stereo manual says " connect to the vehicles reverse lamp harness when using the optional rear view camera" not sure what this wire is for or if the rest of the wiring I have done is correct ?

This is the camera I am using also

Ebay item number 400657726693 ( cant post URL's as I havent posted 15 or more posts yet )

Do you have the Connects2 lead? I can't remember now but I think there's a purple wire on that harness, to which you connect the purple wire you mention on the HU.

I have a different HU/camera combo but the wires will be the same. I just connected the yellow video lead as you have, and for power I tapped into the +ve feed to my sub (I wanted a constant live, so I can switch the camera on whenever I want). Ground is the seat-belt mounting bracket.
I'm not sure why you've connected the power from the number plate light, as you only need the one from the reverse light - this will power up the camera as soon as you engage reverse.

There is a separate led light which is why i used the power from the number plate light. I have completed the fitting now and as you have mentioned, I also use the function button on the head unit to switch the camera on which works really well. The total cost was £24.99 which is a bargain. When I get a moment I will take some pics of the set up and the display on the head unit.

Thanks for your reply Leon Sport, much appreciated
