you could remap it to a lower torque range..280lb...its only 30lb more but might be worth it!..id personally get some really nice wheels and lower it!

I don't know how people can claim to have a heavy right foot and get 500+ miles to a tank. I have a heavy right foot and my average mpg sits around 30 which seems to equate to around 350 a tank. That's mostly town thrashing though which is still a vast improvement on most petrol cars when driven like that.

Took it north to see my folks over the festive period and over a 250 mile drive i managed 45mpg whilst cruising at a steady 80 most of the time - long motorway drives are the only time i ever see that kind of economy though.

Other than that it's a great car and as others have said, i'm struggling to find something else to replace it with that excels in as many areas as this one does. The only slight downside is the engine noise - but that really is it :)

cheers for that mate couldent have asked for a better reply 2 tha question.
Next question is what is the likelyhood of the clutch goin after a reamap?

My clutch seems fine after remap but its always in the back of my head (too much negative proof on here for me to forget about it)

I'm *trying* to save just incase it does show signs of failing. I don't do many miles though - my previous Focus did 36k in 5 years.

I must admit i'm driving the Leon much more but still not half as much as some people do on here. I always use 4th to boot it if i'm in 5th or 6th, keep my revs above 2.5k when booting. I don't hold the car on bite if i'm on a hill waiting etc...

Basically changed my driving style quite abit to give me plenty of time for saving. Only difference I get is a vibration/judder if I try accelerate with 3-4 passangers up a hill in 5th or 6th - I guess this is the flywheel telling me to f-off.

Think i will definetly be getting a leon fr sounds like a real good car just a bit worried about the clutch seems a bit off putting. but the car i am going to see has only done 15k miles so hopefully i wouldent have to worry about the clutch for a long time.
The FR i am lookin at as i say has done 15K miles and its a 55 plate does £13k sound about right or is tha a lil pricey ?

Think you could get a bit off that. I paid £14k over a year ago which was way too much considering people were getting them brand new for not much more :(

I wouldn't worry about the clutch either. I'm up to 35k now without any hint of clutch problems, had a remap for about 7k aswell :)

Probably Platinum Grey. That's the colour I would have got if I didn't get black :)

It's always worth trying to get a bit of money off, if they won't budge and you're getting a good trade in then I'd go for it :)

I bought mine with around 14k miles on it, 21k later it's still running perfectly with no problems :D

If it's a 55 reg 150 TDI it'll definitely be an FR :)
Especially if it has the Cupra R bumper and 17" Cupra R wheels. Unless somebody spent a lot of money converting a different one to FR spec.

Also check the seats, FR's have a different pattern to all the others I think. Don't have a photo though.

yer i have taken it 4 a drive i rli likes it, seemed to have more power than my 206 gti and was a much nicer car to drive. the whole car seemd to go nice the gearbox was loveley on it compared to my 206. im hoppin the handeling will be better than the 206 to because i live out in the sticks in wales 90% of my driving is on A and B roads.

Live in Wales too! Have had a few Seats & done big miles in them, so obviously had lots of dealer servicing. After driving petrol loan cars, diesels feel very front heavy (because they are!) which makes turn-in a bit slower, once you're used to it you'll be fine. One thing you will enjoy is the lift-off oversteer, no problems getting a Leon tdi full across the road like a rear wheel drive!!! Company Toledo tdi (mk2, V reg) I had a few years ago was great for it!!!!
Got our black, Jan 06, 55 plate Leon 150tdi FR+ (enhanced) June last year with 15k miles & paid £12,500 for it - but it was a private sale, saw it on our favourite auction website & did the deal privately!
Economy, agree with Uncle Fester, any of you who are getting over 450 miles on a tank must be driving like old ladies or lucky!!!! My wife is lucky to get 400 with mixed driving, but she loves the power & its got the Dragon tuning box fitted - not a good as a remap I know but safer until its out of warranty imho.

You cant faulter the TDI FR mate. Had mine now 3 years and spent over 14k on modding her.
Can most likely be compared to more a Cupra R TDI now, gives standard Cupra R's a run for its money.

If your worried about the clutch problem, its not that hard of a thing to fix, talk to Unclefester about the helix friction plate, as that cures most of the problem and is quite cheap to fix, and it will suffer the remap pretty well!

If i was to make a suggestion on if your going to be around twisty roads, invest in a S3 upper and lower struts and a set of front and rear ARB's. Then your love the twisty A and B roads!

cheers mate will keep tha in mind by lookin thru other threads i have seen that many ppl would advise the front and rear ARB's. dnt think i would want to lower it for the handeling because of the type of roads i drive on.

Mpg wise I am getting 550-600 miles per tank and I have an 80 mile round trip to work everyday and that's after my re-map, and I don't drive like a Sunday driver either track day sunday driver maybe;).
When you're filling your tank don't forget to push the little button just inside the filler neck as you can more fuel in as it vents air out of the tank.
