Hi, got my nomad pillar and auto meter gauge for my bday today and was just wondering where everyone wires it in(ign and earth only)? i know the info guide says dimmer switch but id prefer somewhere i can crimp some bullet connectors in to make it nicely removable so have been thinking about using the iso block but what have other owners done?
cheers
Adam

You will have to really butcher the bracket on the back of the guage first, i would do that before you get them hooked up to the car otherwise major PITA!!! i should know. Get some decent pipe too the stuff in the autometer kit is cheap and nasty

I think i will go for the ISO so its kept neat and removable as i really dont fancy making a mess of things

Andrew - Im building a kit car and that takes most evenings and weekends so i really hope to fit it soon when im off a bit round christmas or il end up with a gauge and pod hanging around aswell:D

Ronin - yeah that plastic tubing is crap its far too hard to weave round an engine bay. What did you replace it with? as for the bracket. i even found the gauge a snug fit on getting it out the box but hopefully with a dremmel i can maintain the whole bracket.

I saw a thick bit of felt on the fitting guide but all i got was two pieces of velcro so is it worth getting some to stop the rattles?

I used 4mm high temp nylon pipe and put a different fitting and olive, etc to suit this. you can still use the standard tee you just have to massage the pipe into the rubber piece. Got to change my fitting on the weekend as the nut is too large and fouling at the back of the pod. but luckily i made a better one at work nice and small.
As for the brackets on the back the fibreglass is very thin and to get it flush you will probably end up with a gaping hole. Mock it up before you put it on the car and you will see what i mean about the brackets forcing the gauge on the piss and white surround against the black of the car looks terrible.
Hopefully should finish mine saturday and will try and post some pics.
Where you going to tee in as well?

Mine is also taken from th FPR then runs back up past the dv to my strut brace and along to th grommet where it goes through. this takes it over the turbo and a bit of the charge pipe hence the high temp pipe
