I have been wondering for some time now why all the windows are always misted up and the air feels damp in the car. It was not until i went to pickup my laptop off the rear driver side foot panel that i found my laptop was wet and then when i lifted up the mat and pushed down on the carpet it made a squishing sound and is soaking wet :wtf:

Im going to do some more testing with the hose pipe to make sure its not coming through the doors but it sure feels like its coming from underneath the car floor???

Has any one else had this problem and how hard is it to lift the carpet up?

Thanks for your time

Cheers

i feel your pain brother as i am sure lots do on here. Mine is coming through the passenger side door membrane. Mind you every single vag car i have had has this problem. Mk2 golf, b4 passat and now this thing. Will get round to fixing it at some point when it stops raining! For the time being i used one of those super cloths that absorbs lakes and kept wringing it out til the squishiness went then let it air for a bit. Now i have put said cloth in rear footwell to repeat process. Might just get garage to do it one day.

I have looked at Guides which are very good but am i bit worried about snapping the clips or using silicon and making a hash of it all?

This should have been a recall from Seat as its a joke how many people this happens to.
Might take it to the garage but you just know they will make up some crazy quote. :-o

Design fault with the MK1 Leon's I'm afraid.

I need to take my front passenger door apart and seal it up following the guide on here. Got a small leak there myself. Only noticed when it continually rains all week (as it has done here!!!!)

Should have been a recall but it didn't happen. Once you seal it up though, it's done.

You just going to use Silicon or seal tape as well?

Seat le-pond cupra lol

Did you not have to do any of the resealing by taking off the door trim? Also where did you snip? How many snips? and was it just where the drain holes are?

lol
if you open the door you have the rubber seal that goes all the way around the opening, i made 2 V like cuts in the bottom i will see if i can get a pic or make one on paint lol
or you can use some kind of hole punch, looks a lot neater but i dont have one

Not sure how that works as the seal the door closes onto and which holds the water in the sill area.

Get some pics up or are you talking of the seal on the actual door itself?

some may say lala land....
i had this and used the seal that seat sell in the parts dept - go to local stealer mention issue and he'll supply the right stuff
i was told not to use silicone as an arse wipe to remove should window regs need changing
just used it didn't width on the front doors and did both sides though only drivers leaked, because if ones gone the other will go at some point as all same age
touch wood, no issues with the back or fronts since :)

I can't see how cutting a slit in number 1 with relieve the water from 2 as 2 is very tight (as it should be) to the door.
