Guys I have already said many times about about Offsets.

heres the low-down...

Altea TDI Sport: 7x17 ET54
FR: 7.5x18 ET51

you should be comfortable with 8x18 ET45. however going any lower with ET (ie ET35) will push the rim outside the front wheel arch. Rear wheels should be ok for ET35. the track width is approx 10mm less on the rear than the front.

Please look here:

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

enter your standard measurements then add you new wheel size. you will see ET35 will push out the rims.

Thanks Toxic!so it will be the equivelent of running a 19mm spacer then? ok for the back, but borderline for the front! will chuck one on tomorrow and give it a go :)

yeah there abouts. I have seen ET35's on a Leon but it is dependant on wheel width as well. if they are 8x18 ET35 my guess would be the front wheels will poke out of the arch just slightly.

Yep your spot on mate! fit fine on the rear, but with a spirit level on the fronts they stick out 5mm!
Still might fit them though, and put my 17's back on for the mot

Mine poke out a wee touch, nothing major, maybe a euro style on the tyre front, instead of e.g. 225 sectino width, use 220/215 and 'stretch' look. Safe to do by 10mm, 5 each side.

Excellent news that someone is running them then! :)
Have you ever had any probs with the law/MOT?

Paul, any pics of the ET35's on the Altea? btw what Audi wheels are they?

I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow, but on our spare old computer,so don't know if i can upload to it!
i don't think they are proper audi alloys, more of a copy! like an a8 wheel, but only 9 spokes!

I may have clipped something coming onto the motorway heading from work. only 1 mile to next turnoff, by that time tyre flat as pancake, was doing 75/80 too! Only a cut in the side wall, no other damage. Tyre only 2mths old too. Another £65 gone.
