Hi All,
Does anyone have any idea how heavy a Ibiza FR 16" Pre-Facelift alloy wheel is? (no tyre).
A ballpark figure would be fine.

I know the Cupra alloys are supposed to be very heavy.

Thanks!

Well I weighed my facelift FR alloys the other day, and they came out as ~10.3kg without the tyre. However I used standard bathroom scales, so I'm not sure how accurate they are

Thanks for that. It's a good start.
It might be a good idea to have a list of what alloys weigh what.

Ok this is just a cut and paste from wiki but..
"The amount of movement is inversely proportional to the weight - a lighter wheel which readily moves in response to road bumps will have more grip when tracking over an imperfect road. For this reason, lighter wheels are often sought for high-performance applications. In contrast, a heavier wheel which moves less will not absorb as much vibration; the irregularities of the road surface will transfer to the cabin through the geometry of the suspension and hence ride quality is deteriorated."

Yeah the lighter the better! They say 1kg removed from each wheel feels about equal to 10kg removed elsewhere (effects wise)

the ratio is 1:4.
I've been told that for every 1 kilo on a wheel it is the equivalent of having 4kg inside the car.. so 4 wheels weighing roughly 6/7kg each is the equivalent of driving a fully grown man around.. permanently! Lightweight wheels are a good investment IMO
