Hi i have just checked out the allard AMC Super Tuning Chip, it says that with originall power/torque @ 130/228 and u then fit the chip (part number AMC225) it bumps it up to a gobsmackin.. 225/335 for a total £425?????

There has to be a catch????
They could do this for you, but!!!. your standard turbo will last all of about 2 minutes i would say, so yes, u will need extra stuff to get you upto 225bhp, i.e, hybrid turbo, fmic ect ect

that's not right... it's the 2nd turbo failure they've seen, just they didn't warrant the 1st.......

Just singing Lloyds praises - Daniel whats limiting your power now - is it the turbo or injectors?

You'll need a new clutch too...

Unit 26, Sabre Close, Quedgeley, GLOUCESTER is their address
Yes this is also true, although, the week i had mine before i had my uprated clutch from work fitted, it coped remarkably well with the extra power, no slip at all.
But, when you try to do 2nd gear lauches with 225bhp on a standard clutch, it makes an awfull smell :roflmao:, but it didnt matter as it was the day before i had the new one fitted.

isn't he soon to be on Turbo #3 though?
Already on turbo no 3 my friend. First one wasnt covered by warranty as it was second hand, off a car that had had an accident. That failed as the vanes siezed due to 2 bolts coming off and the turbo misaligning or something. The second one was a brand new turbo, with a nice 6 months warranty. I had really no choice other than to buy it, as there was no way i was going back to a standard kkk turbo after experiancing the hybrid one.
About 6-7 weeks after having this fitted, POP, another one goes, no warning, just bang. Luckily though i had the warrany on this baby, and Allards picked up the bill for it :)I cant fault them though on there customer service, although i was without my car for a week and a bit, they sorted it all out for me and fitted another brand new turbo, turned the boost down as it was rather high and so far, nearly 1k miles on, it is still going strong :)

Yeah because before i let this crazy woman drive it, who crunched my gearbox, and gave my clutch a right old bashing, my pooooooor baby , so no more women driving it me thinks.:)

yeah thats the only thing that worries me. Although AMD never had any problems with their Hybrids and DEVon Mikey never had a problem with his allard conversion ( which is the one Spaniels bought)

If anyone wants any advice on Tdi tuning or allards you can't go far wrong talking to Mike, he really knows his stuff.
You saying i dont know my stuff Ant?

But the second one, well not sure, i wonder if he ran it in properly. Not sure can't comment as i do not know his driving styles.
YES, the second one was run in properly, i didnt give it a pasting for about a week afterwards, and i had covered a fair few miles on it aswell. My driving style is i would say enthusiastic, but also can drive respectfull and slowly and echonomically when i want to, ie long trips own to surrey or essex everyother weekend  as i averaged about 53mpg on the way down there ;)

Correct Spaniels first turbo was taken from Devons Cupra and as such was never given a guarantee by Allards. The second turbo did blow and is currently with TurboActive for investigation. Apparently, this is the first instance of turbo failiure Allard have experienced with TurboActive.
Yep, that is correct, another first for me LMFAO, but like i said before, Allards are a very good company, and really know how to look after there customers :)
On that they are faultless, its just this rack of dodgy turbos they have on a rack called" spaniels turbo's", but they said to me that they have never had any problems with any other conversions they have carried out, and that i may infact be out driving the cars capabilities, or shall we say, the capabilities of the turbo.

The first turbo didn't have any warranty because Spaniels bought it direct from me not Allards, all Allards did was fit it. I dont know why either turbo went bang for.My old turbo had a visual check before being put on Spaniels car. Just a case of real bad luck i guess.

Isnt that down to the map then - limiting the fuelling and boost within the perameters of the turbo:confused:

I just spoke to allard about a clutch for my ibiza cupra tdi and your name came up in conversation within about 10 seconds. Says the audi is going to be something special!
