air intake ?

Hi,

Still in the process of getting my Ibiza 1.4 SXE sorted, just had the cracked exhaust manifold replaced and now need to get the air intakes sorted. As you can see from the below picture, the previous owner had removed air intake from the heat shield and just left the spliter there going to the air box.

What's the best way to sort out the air intake, I pressume in its current state, its just using hot air from the engine, which isn't the best. Should I just block of one side of the spliter, get some ally duct from B&Q and run it to the front grill ?

I dont really want to loose to much fuel effieciency as I do a lot of miles.

There's no F in Quality..
SPT is the way forward ;)

Have a search on here for it !!!

Best way, is to undo the little screw where the pipe joins the airbox, remove the pipe totally, then get some 60mm aluminium ducting from a local motor factor, secure it to the airbox with a jubilee clip, then route it down behind your front grille facing forwards.

I searched, but couldn't really find any good threads giving details on SPT, have you got a link?

How is it best to attach the ducting to the grill ?

Cheers Matey

ive got a K&N on my little ol' 1.4.. ive simply removed the old filter out of the OE airbox.. removed the plastic piping ,fitted a length of flexible tubing (which came with the K&N ) and located it right behind the offside (drivers) headlight. got some 'ally' tubing from B&Q and twisted it to sit right by the K&N , with the other end sat down atthe bottow of the bumper behind the bottom grill (just where the top of the splitter is :)
