after reading some threads about removing the flap on the air intake, i was curious as to whether this flap was on all models or just the smaller engines? will the tdi cupra also have this flap ?

i also still have my cold fed dyna twist packed up in a box would it be worth be swapping the cupra box etc to put this back in, or is the standard system good enough anyway?

The flap is there on all models it is there to stop water getting in.

Dynatwist is upto you really but doulbe check the derv MAF could be 3" housing not 100% sure. It's a bit like changing the TIP. Original one did the job just fine but wanted to bling up the engine bay so bought the Forge TIP.

If the standard air box/ derv air box is good for IHI turbo then it's fine for the standard turbo. Just replace the panel filter with an aftermarket brand.

The mouth of the adaptor that connects to the intake is not directly behind the grille anyway, so you will get a bit of protection. Might also get a few more flies in so best to check filter more during summer (if we get a summer that is!)
