I've found a second hand one for a decent price, but I'm not sure if I want to spend £180 more and get one from autoairconparts.co.uk.....especially now that the weather has cooled down! I should really sort it out though and get my free re-gas from kwik fit.

I does sound like your compressor, but could be other things. To test the compressor you can disconect the connector to it (right hand side as you look at it) and test the voltage output. you should see 7V with the engine running (econ off, set to low ect), if you do - its your compressor. Ive been meaning to do a how to guide about all this, but havent got round to it yet!

I just found my volt metre and tested the wire leading to the compressor. It is receiving 7v with the engine running a/c on, econ off. So I guess it is the compressor then :cry:

A how to guide of how to replace it would be handy ;)

Mine went down 2 days after havin the car car was 3 years old when i got it got it covered under warranty. which is lucky
