air box removal

hi guys- new to SEATCupra!

The names Si- i'll post a proper introduction up in the right thread though!

I'm in need of some help,

I have a Seat Leon 1.8 20V SE (non-turbo), 2001 plate.

I'm trying to fit my subwoofers in the boot- and have seen some threads on here and ICECAVERN about how to do this- which is great.

Now that I know where to run the power cable- can anyone advise on how I take the airbox off?

So far I have removed the screws securing the top of the airbox- and I have noticed a bolt near the top mount that needs to be removing.

Is there anything else I need to take off?

Cheers!
Si

Undo the jubilee clip on TIP where it joins the airbox and remove it from the airbox, There are 2 screws on the back side of the airbox, remove these. Lift the back of the airbox lid towards the front, the front edge is help together with hook's. When it's out you need to remove the MAF which is held in with 2 screws. Dont drop these or you'll have to take the sump gaurd off.
Once the top is off there are 2 bolts, Standing in front of the car the first is on the front left hand side and the other is on the back right hand side (I think) remove these, you then have to just wiggle it out, there is a big rubber locating pin on the right hand side,

Undo the RED one first & then you'll be able to get to the GREEN one's.
The BLUE one I think is an oil brether pipe so you'll have to take that off aswell

You can unplug the Maf but I can never get mine off so I aways unscrew it.

I think it was only the Cupra's that had a breather pipe

if you unplug the maf yes. (the electrical sensor on the top of the palstic tube immediately after the airbox).
