sounds like the blades have hardened over time and are stuck at one angle if the wiper arms are not bent, this happened on a fairly new set of Bosch normal style wipers i had. Might be something like the washer fluid or prolonged sunlight that has weaken the rubber and then the action of the wiping has set the rubber at an angle causing it to skip.

don't think so, the tips of the blades wash the rain off just fine, but it's the middle section of the blade that gives me problems...
also when there is not enough rain on the screen , it dribbles right over it.
replacing them helps.

You can buy Bosch Retrofit Aero wipers from Wiperblades.co.uk, eBay or if you live up north a shop/firm called Andrew Page. I bought mine from Pages and they were cheaper than the net, £20 instead of £25+.

They look good and do not to catch the side of my windscreen pillar, so far, as the old ordinary ones did. The only problem is they seam to miss about 1 cm at the ends of the drivers side wiper which is annoying.

Can someone tell me what size and part no of these VW retrofit ones?

Sorry for bringing up such an old thread. I have recently bought a FR and the windows would not clear i didnt know the age of the blades so put it down to that so £36 later full set of Bosch aero.

Exactly the same. Clears spot on the passenger side drivers side is fine on sweeping up but on the motion back down it leaves a massive area.

This sounds like the same issue that some one had on page 1, I an just not sure which direction I need to bend the wiper arm if at all?

Any advice welcome.

P.s I now have a pretty much brand new set of wipers going cheap if anyone is after a set lol.

Well it turns out that it wasn't the wipers, it's the arm spring / joint is week after giving it some lube it was better but not 100% so ordered another arm from the famous auction site.
