I got Bosch aero wipers for the front. They are quite similar to the standard wipers that came on the newer mk4s. And I got a facelift wiper for the rear, but you can also fit the Polo one which looks a bit different and requires something to be trimmed I think.

I got the Valeo Silencio X-TRM Flat blades on mine cost me £26 for the fronts

Look great on the car, but I so wish I hadn't bothered!!

Evertime I turn them on swqeeeeeeeeeek. The problem is they don't bend round the windscreen so they are constanlty on the glass then off the glass.
When its spitting which in inveriably does in this part of the world, it sounds as though you are plucking a piglets eyebrows (not that I ever have, honist!)

Anyway I think I will just have to put it down the experience [:@]

Maybe I should have gone with bosch aero.....

got the Bosch retrofit kit from ebay, very happy with them. As mentioned it doesn't seem to rap around the very edge of the passenger side but its not an issue i think as most of that area is covered by the road tax disk

Do the Bosch ones have a horrible "universal" sized box that the old style wiper blades attach onto?

I got universal Aero blades for my girlfriends MCS and it had a huge black 'box' to accomodate all types of fittings, yuoo stop noticing after a while but it's pretty shoddy looking.

An 18" blade instead of a 19" fits better at the edge of the screen and you don`t lose much coverage. ;)

The ones I got from ebay don`t have the box in the middle... they are un-branded but good, I just kept searching on there for some without the box, they are there to be found.;)

Thought it might be best to post on this thread rather than start a new one

my aero wipers are driving me nuts - every time I put them on they jump over the windscreen and rather than clear the rain get lovely marks which obstruct my view

I'm not sure how to stop it, they're only a couple of months old and I'm getting fed up of not being able to see when I'm driving in the rain

Any ideas??

no ideas, aerowipers just suck, the concept is great but it doesn't work.
I'm thinking about replacing my (stock) aerowipers too normal ones. My sister's golf V has also aerowipers, it doesn't work on that car properly as well...
It's like you said: when the wiper goes up, it wipes all the rain away but when it goes down again, your vision is just horrible.

I bet it only jumps and skips in one direction?

Your wiper arm is probably twisted. the wiper needs to be exactly at a right angle to the screen. this means that it flip flops the same amount in each wipe direction. As you know the rubber wiper blade flips over as the wiper comes up your screen. it then flops back again on the way down. it's a case of twisting the wiper arm so that the flip is the same amount as the flop.

I hope this makes sense to you.

If you want to twist the wiper arm, wrap a rag around it and use a pair of plyers, this way the plyers will not damage the painted wiper arm.

must admit don't see all the hipe with the aero wipers - my old £7 a set wipers did a better job then these

not sure if I fancy attacking the wiper arm with a pair of plyers? be a bit worried in case I really damaged them?

sounds like the blades have hardened over time and are stuck at one angle if the wiper arms are not bent, this happened on a fairly new set of Bosch normal style wipers i had. Might be something like the washer fluid or prolonged sunlight that has weaken the rubber and then the action of the wiping has set the rubber at an angle causing it to skip.

Rather than using a pair of plyers you can hinge the wiper blade out and use it as a leaver to twist the wiper arm. this will work but can sometimes damage the clip so go easy if you do it like this.
