A quick video of how little smoke my 2.0 PD diesel makes at 327bhp 411lb torque.

Suitably impressive Mike... Spoke to Llloyd yesterday and he was telling me about the wonders of the 16V engine vs. the 8V, especially with regards to getting the smoke levels down.

I've finally got my fine-tune of the remap booked in as mine's smoking far too much at the mo. How was your old Cupra Mike?

Mike's started out as the 140, which doesnt have the particulate filter on, unlike the 170 BHP ones.

It shoudn't smoke alot anyway to be honest.

Its normal to get some, as time is needed for the turbo to spool in order to burn the diesel.

Too much smoking just means the injection is higher than needs be, and unburnt fuel comes out the exhaust.

Where is that RR? Remind me never to go there, that ratchet strap has got a Huge cut in it under the exhaust. That place belongs in a museum!

On closer inspection..... I agree with Ed!

Would have been bad if it jumped off the rollers and rolled into a wall!!!!

How much of that 327bp is coming from gas? I fancy adding a bottle of each under my boot floor.

No but Grant's well known with a mk1 Audi quattro engined motor which had around the 700+hp mark that ran into the 9's , and now he's having a little play with a pd 130hp unit .

Him and Andy Nicole's both work for AET engineering , the people who's turbo's are in a lot of the Porsche Gt cars which race around the world.....Andy had an old mg miestro which has won Ten Of the best a few times and now he has a rover with 800hp and has done the same with that.

Hi Mike have you any more new on your car , and is anyone going to the york dragway this sun/mon or santa pod in 3/4 weeks for that matter!

Only got the car back from the bodyshop a few weeks ago after the dopy cow sorry i mean woman reversed into the front of the car. Cannot decide between the Spec stage 3+ or Helix sinthered paddle clutch for my new clutch. Spec is about £650 and Helix £950 plus fitting. Helix is more exspensive but has a really good name and i know if i have any problems with the setup it should be sorted quickly where as Spec is American based so if i have problems it could take along time to sort out. The Spec 3+ is rated at 590lb torque which seems very high for a single plate clutch. Turns out i have a leak on my NOS bottle so thats going back to WON to be replaced and they are paying for the P+P if they read this. Still waiting for the uprated injectors like Simon Cooper. Bought a bigger turbo which i cannot tell you anything about other then it should be able to take my car to 400bhp if things work out but still early days yet. Whats happening about Steve`s car then since i have heard that he has had quite i few problems with it.
@ ibizacupra. Video was takern at Interpro.

Yes you could say that Mike...just a few problems , he's had to replace the 3rd gear & synchro , clutch , and turbo which is bigger than the previous unit having a t3 60mm compressor wheel......so no not cheap £2500 in the last 12 weeks.

Alls thats left is to have it re-mapped and thats about it for that motor , but he may be doing something with the V6 tdi unit next.

He's just said that he's just got a friend of his a set of Race+ pd nozzles which flow more than the standard race units
