Anyone hardwired a dash cam and run it down the A pillar/front door pillar behind airbag? I’m trying to find how to actually remove it by the looks of it it’s just strong metal clips keeping it in place don’t want to just jank it off with hidden screws/connectors anything I should be mindful of ?

Yes did mine pretty easily, just pull firmly on the cover, it will come away far enough to run the cable behind and down to the top of the dash, then remove the side cover where the airbag switch is, you can then run the cable over to the top of the fuse panel. The hardest thing to do was getting the glove box to drop so I could get to the fuse panel itself, it's easy enough to unhook the dampener, but pressing the clips on the box to get past the stops was not fun.

Hi, did you pull it away on the window side? Not sure how to route the cable at the base of the A pillar from window side without removing the A pillar trim 🤔

When you pop off the dash side panel the cable will drop from the base of the A pillar straight on to the fuse box.

Did you see the video in the Dash cam installation post?

Don't run the cable down the window side, run it down the outside of the A-pillar (ie next to the door). You don't even need to fully unclip the cover, just pull it open enough to tuck the cable in and push it in as you work your way down the pillar.

Thanks Andy, yes I saw that vid, I was just wondering how you got down the front of the pillar to this section without removing the trim. Only being careful as I'm not that delicate

Thanks, is that still safe for the airbag though, running across the top of the pillar? I thought the bag deployed in that direction
